Forums - Microsoft - What is the best 360 game for kids to have been released in '09?

Grand Theft Auto 4 and Halo 3, every 11 or 12 year old I know on XBL looovees them.

So true. lol. It's annoying to see 11 year old boys swearing at you on XBL but you know what? You're only 11/12 years old once. I say let them act like fools on XBL. I'm sure if I grew up in the Xbox Live era at that age instead of the PS1 era, I'd be doing the exact same thing. lol.

It's a shame that the nephew is being so sheltered like this. Kids are only kids once. Once you stop being a kid and find out that you have to start growing up, you'll regret it if you don't make the most out of being a kid. His mom needs to lighten up and let him play the violent M-rated games so that he can be all like "cool.... awesome... this is the greatest game evar!" and call old geezers like me a n00b on XBL.

This generation of kiddies these days though, it's a risky generation. With all this Youtube, Facebook and Myspace stuff. With these Dateline predator type of scenarios. So you absolutely do need supervision though. It's tough being a parent I admit. Because not all kids have the common sense to know not to end up making themselves a laughing stock on youtube/facebook/myspace or to avoid getting into a Dateline type of scenario.

holy shit now your pushing it to think of 360 games that targets young audiences

what about Marvel Ultimate Alliance?

other then that i cant really think of games that can appeal to the younger audience that came out in 09, you could always get him some racing games like forza 3?

Are there any models in Forza 3 like some of the car games like Need for Speed have or is it all just about the cars?  If there are any models in it his parents probably wouldn't like it if I bought it for him, but he did enjoy the building aspects of the Banjo game and wanted to know if there was another game like that where you create things.

As far as arcade games go, he's not allowed to put his Wii or 360 on the internet.

My mom is getting him New Super Mario Wii, Zelda:  Spirit Tracks, and Wii Sports Resort for his Nintendo consoles which is why I'm looking to get him a 360 game.

what about that new batman game? every kid loves batman...  that new ghostbusters game is a pretty good after 20 years of never been a good ghostbusters games

Sports and Racing Games
Music Games like Guitar Hero
Viva Pinata
LEGO games
Beautiful Katamari
Mini Ninjas
Sid Meiers Pirates

That's all I can think of. To be perfectly frank though, I think a yoot without internet access should be playing the Wii, but that's my inner fanboy speaking.

If you're getting a Viva Pinata, get Trouble in Paradise as it has more pinatas plus it has co-op.

themanwithnoname's law: As an America's sales or NPD thread grows longer, the probabilty of the comment "America = World" [sarcasticly] being made approaches 1.

get him PURE.

1) it bundled so DAMN cheap
2) it is actually fun
3) you can modify your vehicle
4) it is made by Disney. Parents love Disney

try to find:

Kameo, Viva Pinata, Forza Motorsport 3, new college football stuff, Lego Batman, Lego Indiana Jones, Kung Fu Panda, Lego Star Wars or Music games like Rockband, Guitar Hero or Lips. Other than that there is Sega Genesis Collection ( he might be too young to like retro though) or you're in the movies.

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

They keep him away from most of that type of stuff by keeping him highly active in church, sports, and going to cultural events.  He's on the golf, basketball, and summer kids' baseball league.

And last summer he went to Coach Calipari's summer basketball camp for kids.

Poor kid, I'm afraid to see what he'll grow into once he matures...

Banjo is the best pick as far games go though.

Sounds exactly like my nephews, and honestly it's probably for the better, I'd rather not have another 11-12 year old on xbox live yelling out racial slurs.

I did pick up Smarter than a 5th grader for both the mom and the kids though, it's nice that it was on amazon instead having to hook up to Live to get it.

I bet you could pick up some of the Lego games for cheap.
Mercs 2 was rated Teen in the US, it is a bit of fun, and should be cheap.

Yet, today, America's leaders are reenacting every folly that brought these great powers [Russia, Germany, and Japan] to ruin -- from arrogance and hubris, to assertions of global hegemony, to imperial overstretch, to trumpeting new 'crusades,' to handing out war guarantees to regions and countries where Americans have never fought before. We are piling up the kind of commitments that produced the greatest disasters of the twentieth century.
 — Pat Buchanan – A Republic, Not an Empire

Which one is better Lego Indiana Jones or Lego Batman?
