This game is definitely creepy, I stopped playing it because it creeped me out too much.

I didn't think it was all that scary myself. My suggestion would be to go for Siren on the PSN, it's the creepiest game I've seen this gen.

the first half of the game (PS3 version) scared the crap outta me. unfortunately the game is kinda too long and a little repetitive so I got use to it after a while and the later half didn't scare me as much.

For something to be scary it needs to be disturbing...the game is just full of BOO! moments that repeat over and over.

i find games like Silent Hill to be scary not Doom / F.E.A.R / Dead Space. those games are more actiony than horror and their only way to scare you is random pop ups.

Yes that game is scary. It's still sitting in my game box unfinished(about half way). I can't play it at all without someone to play with me. Had it for 3 months now.

Disturbing and scary are not the same thing.

Silent hill series is good but they doesn't faze me at all. What are you guys talking about? Atmosphere? Dead Space definitely has a scary atmosphere.

Dead Space fails on scares for me because you have plenty of ammo, and controls are very action oriented.

But like Pullus said, people want different scares when playing games. I find Portal more haunting and creepy than Dead Space...
