Forums - Nintendo - To everyone still looking for a Wii....

...please have a look at my picture on the left.

I know I am mean, but hey I am not apologizing for living in "We are not interested in Wii" country Germany. Anyways, this has been the case since May or June. Why did Nintendo not shift production to supply more to the states. any thoughts?

I've got some predictions on comments going.

Wow, I'm surprised.

Its been known for a while now that certain EU countries haven't been selling out. I am pretty sure Nintendo has shifted supply from EU countries with stock to EU countries that are still selling out regularly (ie selling out before the end of a week).

I think its been this way for about 2 months now actually..I could be a bit off on that though.

@Montana,

Do you really have to post in every thread about the impending doom for the thread? Could you back off and let people post their thoughts and then moderate where necessary? Just a tad annoying and its actually bordering on trolling as it is, since you are basically saying "oh here we go again, you know those Wii fans, they just can't control their fanboyism".

Actually its pretty similar to rule 3:

"No "In Before The Lock" (IBTL) posts. Repeat offenders will be warned, and disciplinary action will be taken if those warnings are not heeded."

Its not word for word, but its the basic gist of what you are saying.

To Each Man, Responsibility

If those sales count as not interested in the Wii what does that say about the PS3 and Xbox360?

Germany:

Console Weekly Total

Wii - 9,841- 394,613

PS3 - 5,201 - 156,205

Xbox360 - 3,794 - 328,669

thats curious.. but i guess if it has been like that for the whole year, then that means they are shipping stuff elsewhere, since nothing is moving there

and i agree with what sqri said about montana, it gets a tad annoying

I dont think its not selling, its just that Germany is a PC gaming country. Compare sales in germany of any console with ales in the UK or France - and keep in mind that Germany has a larger population and is not really considered a poor country.

It just baffles me still hearing reports, when in an average Saturn store on an average day (Saturday) there is so many consoles sitting around. Is it so hard to switch production lines from PAL to NTSC? Or is it all the booklets they already printed in German and dont want to waste?

So how many are still being shiped to that chain in Germany?  The amount that a store has on hand does not show if Nintendo is still shiping to them.  Also if the store is still getting in new Wii's that don't sell, why are they ordering them, it is not like Nintendo just ships them Wii's.  The store orders and buys from Nintendo.

well, let's be frank, the situation is the same all over Europe. Whether it's in Poland or in Germany or maybe even Italy, there are more Wii's available then people actually want to buy. But that doesn't mean that the Wii isn't selling, take a look at those weekly numbers.

In my opinion, out of all the Wii's being produced during one month 40% should go to the US, 35% to Europe and the remaining quarter to Japan, that would be fair enough imo.
