I don't know if PS3 will ever take over Washington DC (aka North America) but It will win in Others and obviously Japan easily. Oh and Worldwide, but not North America.

OT: Judging by the history of this generation, by this time next year the 360 will be outselling the PS3 comfortably. Basically there is no historical precedent to support your FUD. You should clearly check all available information, and not cherry pick 2 months of data and generalize it out to the rest of the generation. This is bad math, bad statistics, and smacks of fanboyism (in this case, manipulating numbers to make the end result fulfill your wishes)

Yeah as if historical precedent could have EVER predicted that Nintendo would be 1st and Sony 3rd!!!

No statistical model can predict what's going to happen. Short term extrapolation is all that works, and that's pretty much what he's doing.


Hmm. . . we're going to have to agree to disagree here. In my opinion short term extrapolation is a good way to cook the books (like Enron: hey we made 1,000,000 yesterday, therefore we'll make 3.65 billion this year), but if you want good long-term extrapolation you need long-term data.


My point is (a) you can't put data in a model to predict the VG industry and (b) the only reasonable prediction you can make from data is SHORT TERM. Don't twist my words.

i think what will hammer the 360 its that its going into its 5 year and microsoft doesn't have many studios to support it, they depend alot on bungie, valve, and epic which all third party.

so microsoft will try to steal the thunder with NATAL, but to do so they will try to hype it as the next gen thing.

but thats all luck, because if natal it's a bugfest, it will be eaten by the media.

sony got a hell of 2010, one of the best line up ever, and nintendo isn't low either they have zelda (if release by 2010).

I think the PS3 will keep the lead. But if we go back to trends. The PS3 always seems to do better than the 360 when it's in the lead. So I don't think the 360 can ever be comfortable again (if they ever really where).



 Go Team Venture! I still don't get the Wii, PS Move,  and Kinect.

When PS3 hits 30 million, Sony will release firmware that allows the spread of mass viruses to destroy all Xbox360s which will force owners to purchase new ones. It's all a giant conspiracy. MS and Sony have duped all of you.
