OT: Judging by the history of this generation, by this time next year the 360 will be outselling the PS3 comfortably. Basically there is no historical precedent to support your FUD. You should clearly check all available information, and not cherry pick 2 months of data and generalize it out to the rest of the generation. This is bad math, bad statistics, and smacks of fanboyism (in this case, manipulating numbers to make the end result fulfill your wishes)

No statistical model can predict what's going to happen. Short term extrapolation is all that works, and that's pretty much what he's doing.

Hmm. . . we're going to have to agree to disagree here. In my opinion short term extrapolation is a good way to cook the books (like Enron: hey we made 1,000,000 yesterday, therefore we'll make 3.65 billion this year), but if you want good long-term extrapolation you need long-term data.

My point is (a) you can't put data in a model to predict the VG industry and (b) the only reasonable prediction you can make from data is SHORT TERM. Don't twist my words.
