Here in Australia PS3 sells for $499 for the 120GB $599 for 250GB, While the 360 sells for $299 for the Arcade and the Elite $449. PS3 is still selling more here.

there we go so the price is not the issue anymore,,,the issue was PS3's price being unreasonbly high given its age.

you also need to throw in all the black friday bundles. There were tons of them, unlike the X360 last year.
