He's just giving his opinion. It's completely fair. I think God of War is a complete ripoff of DMC, really, right down to the color of the experience orbs. The only thing it added was tedious block puzzles. I think the game is so popular, because of Kratos' "coolness" factor. The gameplay alone certainly never made God of Puzzle stand out amongst action games like DMC3.

Now, saying Bayonetta slaps the original DMC in the face, is a HUGE statement. There would be no God of War without DMC, and if there were, it would be in name alone, because that formula was invented elsewhere. It's the Dead Space to DMC's Resident Evil 4.

Now, of course, it's ignorant that a lot of GoW defenders are ALREADY trying to marginalize this game by claiming they played the demo. Playing it or not, everyone knows a demo is not at all indicative of the end quality of an actual game.

I think that it will always start flamewars when someone flames an exclusive game, no matter what it is, and while Edge didn't set out to flame GoW or DMC, they certainly don't give a shit if they flame them or not. They are stating an opinion, and there is no need to "retaliate" by flaming Bayonetta in retort.

Bayonetta will be great. That's pretty much a given at this point, imo.

Haha, good enough reasons! Still, I think we should have our memories of all the current hack 'n slash games erased (just like in Men in Black!) so we can see this from an objective point of view...

Im still hopeing the PS3 version ends up running at a solid frame-rate. Hopefully Sega can clean it up a bit.

I've heard that Sony actually took an interest in the game(probably due to its quality) and has stepped in to help Sega with the port, to optimize it for western release.

It might be a rumor, but it was posted on the main page of this very website in the news section. Again, not sure if it's confirmed.

I will try both. I'm planning on getting Bayonetta for 360. I'm going to have to side with CGI and say that I highly doubt that it will even hold a candle to GOWIII.

No i prefer DMC. This game looks great but not the best.

DMC 4 was dissapointing, God of War 3 looks like a pretty mediocre game. So I believe this EDGE's claim.

That being said I'll still most likely not get the game, it's not coming out on the PC and there are already enough PS3 games for me in 2010.

Just finished playing the demo for Bayonetta.

First of all I didn't find anything wrong with the graphics or framerate at all.

Second, the gameplay is actually really fun. I like it.


Still acts like a member of the Ginyu Squad though.
