ROFLMAO
guys PS3's peak week in xmas 2008 was 533K
It could SELL almost as much as its peak week in AMERICA ALONE on black friday!
All hail the KING, Andrespetmonkey

The reason why NA Sales matter Letsdance, is because sales boosts in Others and Japan won't be able to get it any where near 1 million, you have to see a sizable boost in NA to get up to that. PS3 isn't the leading console Stever, not even close, so you can't say it'll see sales boosts as the leading console, since its not the leading console. |
Or it could just be people really want a PS3 now that its $299.

Sorry but you cant blame Sony for bundling "better games" if they have them to bundle. LBP is a year old game. Batman AA ties in with the dark knight to show off the BD feature of the PS3. Infamous and KZ2 are great exclusives one being 10 months old the other being 6 months old.
It could just be people wanted the products more because they see more value in it.
Not to mention we dont even know how many bundles were available to make this argument that it inflated the numbers so much.
Oh and can i also mention that the 360 had MW2 bundle. Please stop.
Bundles are moot. Just face it.
Hmm... I must have missed something out when i did the OP.
Or maybe i did it all the wrong way around
Lets just say, it's looking likely

Actually,Final Fantasy is going to release in the 13th-20th Week.
Last year the PS3 did 270k then, and in NA 224k?
Those are the numbers for the week ending 20th December my friend.
Why would FF13 impact the fact that the busiest week in the holidays is the one with christmas? Do you see how everything is + if I went a week forward everything would be -
If you think the Ps3 can reach 500k in NA then it would be the week I posted. And if you think that then you should believe others will double that.

The big week i have calculated through the OP is FF13 release week. It is 99.99999% likely to be the "big week" this year for all consoles, it's the last full week before Christmas.
Obviously, that week on each year wont be the exact same, but it gives us an idea of what to expect/predict.

Yeah i know, numbers should be higher everywhere this year for the PS3.
Look at BF for example.
Actually the poor logic is your's lets dance, the reason it sold so much more in others than in NA in previous years was becuase its sales in NA were so poor, people were going for the 360 instead in NA, but now that's changed, its not a mathematical relationship sales in Others and NA, they won't rise in proportion
Predictions:Sales of Wii Fit will surpass the combined sales of the Grand Theft Auto franchiseLifetime sales of Wii will surpass the combined sales of the entire Playstation family of consoles by 12/31/2015 Wii hardware sales will surpass the total hardware sales of the PS2 by 12/31/2010 Wii will have 50% marketshare or more by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!! It was a little over 48% only)Wii will surpass 45 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!! Nintendo Financials showed it fell slightly short of 45 million shipped by end of 2008)Wii will surpass 80 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2009 (I was wrong!! Wii didn't even get to 70 Million)
Carl2291 said: Caps, as always... = VIEWS! Anyway, onto my logic... Please read.
North America - PS3 just sold close to 450k during Black Friday week in NA. Looking at 360's sales on Black friday last year, and the big christmas week of last year... It sold 478k on BF, and in turn sold 526k on the big week itself. With it being ~25k higher than PS3's BF number this year, we could see close to 500k PS3's sold in NA alone on the big week. In PS3's supposedly "weakest" market, i think this is very impressive. Total Others - Last year on Christmas week, PS3 sold 270k. This year, as we know, PS3 sales are much higher than last year. For comparison, this week there were 190k PS3's sold... Compared to the same week last year which saw 137k PS3's sold. If PS3 continues to track above last years sales, and stay close to 360's last year sales... We could see over 300k consoles sold on Christmas week in Others. Japan - This is where it all lies, IMO. When the PS3 Slim launched with the pricecut, PS3 saw sales of 152k, even beating Wii's christmas week sales last year, which goes to show there is pretty high demand for the machine. PS3's current sales too, are also tracking above the Wii's of last year before the Christmas boost (A christmas boost which saw 148k Wii's sold on the big week). Now, the big thing PS3 has to it's advantage? Final Fantasy 13. Could Final Fantasy 13 be big enough to push PS3 sales over 200k for the week? I think it is definately possible.
I think PS3 has a chance of JUST hitting 1 Million, not by a lot... But if it does it will be less than 1,100,000 on the week. What do you guys think? If i made any mistakes, feel free to point them out. And if you disagree, please explain why. Oh, and if this is wanted in the sales forum by a mod, i understand. Just lock and il repost
