Forums - Gaming - Sequels recycling voices

Okay, this is hardly a trend, but I have noticed that both Assassin's Creed 2 and Modern Warfare 2 did it with characters that had nothing to do with their respective characters in the original.

Playing through Modern Warfare 2, I was just waiting for when they revealed Ghost to actually be Gaz, because they had the same voice. And in Assassin's Creed 2, Leonardo is voiced by the same guy who did one of the men from one of the assassin bureaus in the first game. I have no issue with it being the same actors used, but when the voices are so blatantly the same, but with completely unrelated characters, it breaks immersion for me.

It's just something that annoys me.

I thought he was Gaz too, but in that case I like the voice so much I don't really mind. I find it more off putting when I have Nathan Drake appearing in all my games!

True, he does have a very nice voice

And yes, it does start to get a little annoying hearing Nolan North everywhere, it would be nice if he would change his voice just a bit. I had no idea it was him doing Sigmund in R&CF:ACiT until I saw the credits, and if he can do that, he should be able to change it up just a little as well.

Well he just does what he is told, and he does have a great voice!

Indeed he does, but still

It's been too long since I played the CoD4 campaign, so I didn't even notice that.

Assassin's Creed on the other hand..... I played the first game in German and the 2nd in English and no they don't have the same voice ^^

@ Barozi

You don't count then

I believe the same actor voiced McGreggor in Call of Duty 2.

Hmm, never noticed. But then again, CoD2 doesn't really have any connection with the Modern Warfare games other than the brand.
