I even click on the ads sometimes to support my website. I signed up with EVE through this site, and have purchased some products from them.

See, ioi, we'd love to help the site, but if Adblock can make page loads twice as fast, nobody is going to. Seriously, what the hell is the point of ads in the middle of threads? Get rid of those, and I'll switch off Adblock.

The right thing to do, instead of enabling adblock, is to report intrusive ads to an administrator. If they don't respond to your concerns, then you can complain. I'm sure the ads are managed externally so it's not like the admins approve of all of the ads here.

That said, I have to enable Adblock most of the time here (though I click on a few ads when I remember) to get VGC to load pages in under a minute. This site is the slowest I've yet encountered, even on fast computers.

How about you set the ads below the OP to low priority? Is that possible? Load the entire page, and THEN load them.

Either way, as already posted. if you have a problem with ads please send an e-mail to ioi (go to the management page linked on the bottom). Be specific as "ads suck" won't get you anywhere.

I sometimes have one with music.. it's about going on Holiday and sometimes when I'm at work I let my mouse slip over the flash ad to activate the music and dream away.... :)
