Minotaurs are so much easier to overpower than Aries is. Ugh.. I spent an hour today just on the first part of that battle with aries.

Well I made it to the clone fight. This is the part where I realized I should probably have Army of Hades maxed, as both guides and a youtube video I looked up make heavy use of this ability. I only have it at level 2 though.

Yeeeeah Army of Hades is borderline necessary here

Dude AoH is by far the strongest magic when maxed, Seriously don't tell me you maxed out Zeus's fury or Medusa's gaze before it !!

I didnt touch AoH until I got to Aries and realized I pretty much needed it. Only had enough souls to get it to level 2 though. I have Blades of Chaos, Long Sword and Posiedon's Rage (electric aoe) maxed.

Sucks that the end boss is now even harder (if that's possible) because I chose other things to level.

Anyway here is a strategy for you (although it would probably been more easier with AoH maxed). Since you have the Chains on Max if you use the Rage of The Gods you get you use unlimited magic until the RoTG runs out. What you wanna do is (and this really needs some fast clicks) is to selcet the AoH (but not use it yet) then activate RoTG then quickly use the AoH then switch even faster to Poseidon's Rage and use it then again then a third time, if you are fast enough you can release a quick (Magic free) AoH just as your RoTG is done, but like I said gotta work those fingers

I dunno, I'm usually pretty good about finding secrets and such. I take it other people didn't bother to max out the long sword like I did. The strategy you outlined was used in a video I watched as well.
