I mean MW2 was 40-50 million to make, I seriously doubt it would cost anywhere near that on Wii

Dude, it's funny you get mad third party developers for not giving you big budget games when Nintendo doesnt do it either.

Actually compared to most Wii games, games like Mario Galaxy and Metroid Prime are probably big budget

Predictions:Sales of Wii Fit will surpass the combined sales of the Grand Theft Auto franchiseLifetime sales of Wii will surpass the combined sales of the entire Playstation family of consoles by 12/31/2015 Wii hardware sales will surpass the total hardware sales of the PS2 by 12/31/2010 Wii will have 50% marketshare or more by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  It was a little over 48% only)Wii will surpass 45 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  Nintendo Financials showed it fell slightly short of 45 million shipped by end of 2008)Wii will surpass 80 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2009 (I was wrong!! I love Nintendo but it seems that Nintendo has lost their way with the system when it comes to making good games on a regular basis. 3rd parties don't even try for the most part. The Wii doesnt get any respect, but so little good comes out of it.

Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.

Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.

Yeah, I remember the good ol' Gamecube and N64 days, when they just cranked out awesome games on a daily basis. Man, them were da days!

That what I'm thinking too. 15 years Nintendo has been left behind its competitors. 15 long years where Nintendo, alone, was trying to deliver great stuff for their remaining fans. 15 years has passed and now, Nintendo is still trying to deliver great softwares.

Now it is time to show that it's the quality of the gameplay that is the most important. For 15 long years in the dark, it's now time to Nintendo to succeed. I'm really glad the Wii succeed like this, because Nintendo deserves the title of being the only company that is able to deal with two consoles, softwares, unsupportive third editors, second editors and R&D.

I agree with you. Third editors are such a pain sometimes that I'm only looking for Nintendo games. Of course, they are great titles like Little King Story, Dead Space Extraction... But all is important nowadays is money. Too bad Nintendo if our sales are very low, even if we're not doing any publicity.

I will respect Sony and Microsoft the day they will respect the leader of the gaming market: Nintendo. I heard Reggie say that Modern Warfare 2 was a great title... You know what? I hear people say Wii is a stupid and lazy console, with lack of great softwares. I heard Microsoft say that Nintendo should stay only a third party and abandon the Wii and DS. :'(

I'm really glad you shared your point with us, because it is something I believe too. I had much more fun on New Super Mario Bros Wii than on Little Big Planet. My cousin, who owns a PS3, had more fun. You know what? Little Big Planet is 95 and Mario 86. Because of what? No HD, no online, no level creator... What Little Big Planet did was only to bring at last one of those rare platforming games on the PS3.

But be confident, Nintendo doesn't care about those reviewers. They need to respect Nintendo once and for all. They said Miyamoto should retreat!

@leatherhat

Then, you should not play Mario Galaxy or New Super Mario Bros Wii, because you can't consider those excellent core title. Or maybe Metroid, if you're a FPS fan?

@ psrock

Ocarina of Time is the best game of all time and I doubt it was overbudget.

Actually, games that are made for money (like Activision) don't deserve my respect. I had more fun playing Corruption than Modern Warfare 2.

And remember, only your own experience is what defines a game. You abandoned Nintendo with the GameCube, even with the 64, now endure casual games that are destinated to a much more grateful public.

I'll give you Mario Galaxy, but I'll put at LBP budget or Infamous level. Now let's analyze the big Nintendo Games.

Wii Sports

Wii Play

Wiifit

Mario Kart

SSBB

Mario and Sonic

Legend of Zelda

Mario Party

Wii Sports Resort

These are the biggest Wii published games to date, this doesnt tell you why third party games do not do those big budget games on that system.  They are just learning from Nintendo.

Because video games analysts posting on these gaming sites are mostly FPS fans, Simulation Racing fans or any other graphics whores who doesnt care about games like Mario or Zelda. Worst, they look down upon the Wii as a ''kiddy'' console. For them people who bought a Wii did a terrible mistake, people doesnt understand how better an HD console really is. In short, most of them are totally disconnected from the real world. This is why Wii games always get poor critics on Metacritic.

No.

Anyway, Im tired of this crap, wii fans always crying everyone hates the wii, how wii games should get higher scores than they get, how wii is abandoned by developers, how HD fans call wii fans casuals and stupids, etc..

What else do you want? you have a great console and great games, your godly company is kicking everyones ass in hardware and software sales yet you still complain. It seems that this attitudes help ps360 fans with their bashing to the console and their fans.

You're tired of this crap? Then try to imagine how it feels when you've been reading endless crap and endless trolling back from the N64 days to Wii these days: it seems that the "Nintendo hate" is the most played game, EVER...

What many Nintendo lovers may find shocking is the parallel between the way PS2 was treated as a market leader, and the way Wii is treated as a market leader... and the worst part is that most "hardcore snobs" (gamers as well as devs) find that absolutely normal: it's like Wii couldn't even be treated with respect, because it's not even a "real" console... while the same guys were praising or doing most of the best PS2 games, not even three years ago... if their "logic" is right, then all games made in the last 30 years have never been worth playing, and were stealing people's money...

So yeah, we have a great console, a few great games, and many poor efforts... but for the respect, and the game's industry creativity...

But i suppose that people who grew up with the games made by one of the most creative and successful gaming company ever, can't be treated with respect: once we were too old school, then we became too kiddy, and now we're too casual... and after all these years, we still don't know what's a good game, right?

No, not right, and that's why we have the right to feel pissed...

All right, there are people that hate Nintendo, as there are people who hate Sony and people who hate MS, learn to live with it and stop crying, cause all I get from that post is whining.

If all you can get from my post is "whining", then you need a reality check... most Nintendo lovers experience this daily, each time they're reading poor Wii reviews or lame comments in message boards, so it shouldn't be that hard to find...

Btw, i'm too old to whine, especially for something as futile as the opinions of "hardcore" gamers, and even the opinions of some other Nintendo lovers... but i feel bitter anyway, cos' usually, the records, the books, the movies i enjoy are treated with A LOT of respect: and suddenly, when it comes to Nintendo games, it's too much to ask... i play for more than 30 years, and yeah, i find that hard to swallow...

Now of course, i could stop caring, and just play my favourite games... maybe that's the best solution, as games are there to have fun, and playin' them is the most important thing, not talkin' about them... yeah, maybe i'm getting too old to take Nintendo's defense, and to still care about the gaming industry as a whole: it may implode or explode, my life won't change that much, and the best Nintendo games are here to stay anyway, i don't need to know it better...

So because you and your cousin enjoyed it more it must be better right? And Im sure having HD, online and a great level creator is better than not having them, I guess maybe they add to the review scores.

Let's be honest here. The only Wii game worth a crap this year is New Super Mario Bros.

The rest are either incredibly niche games like Muramasa and Little King's Story or casual stuff like Wii Sports Resort and Wii Fit Plus. People who frequent gaming sites like IGN and Gamespot don't care about these games.

You have to remember sites need to make money. Which games are going to get you more hits--The Conduit, Punch Out and RE: Darkside Chronicles or Modern Warfare 2, Assassins Creed II and Uncharted 2?

Wow... what console are you playing with? PS3, PSP...

Yes, it deserves better for an incredible gameplay and not just tons of features that hide the uninspired gameplay... Oh, yes, it is inspired from Mario.

Yes, oh, and the rest, it was pure whining, based on their reality, but it was whining.
