Actually compared to most Wii games, games like Mario Galaxy and Metroid Prime are probably big budget

I'll give you Mario Galaxy, but I'll put at LBP budget or Infamous level. Now let's analyze the big Nintendo Games.

Mario Kart

SSBB

Mario and Sonic

Legend of Zelda

Mario Party

Wii Sports Resort

 

These are the biggest Wii published games to date, this doesnt tell you why third party games do not do those big budget games on that system.  They are just learning from Nintendo.
