With all the money EA is bleeding does this even sound like a good idea to them?

They think that Wii games mean games that are too weird for the expanded audience and not fleshed out enough for dedicated gamers, so such a dumb idea does fit their way of thinking.

^ we will never know maybe they saw something that we didn't.

But wasn't this supposed to be the year where all 3rd parties surged toward the Wii with all their support? They're going the wrong way.

Ea is the third party that invested the most into the Wii in 2009 and the one having the worse financial year......

Hopefully Nitro has legs. If it's fun it should benefit well from word of mouth, as it's a local multi-player focussed game. It does seem they made some very simple but fundamental mistakes with the game, such as the camera. If people crash often because the camera falls behind the car while using nitro, players will be irritated and there won't be any positive viral effect.

Actually their biggest success this year was EA Sports Active....

Tiger Woods Wii sales :

08 : 1.36 millions units

09 : 1.24 million units

10 : 610k...

Granted sales of the last version are not over, but it's been release for 6 months and looks doubtfull it will beat the previous iteration and you gotta expect sales will come to a stop once Tiger Woods PGA11 is out...

For comparison at the same time ( week 23 after the release) PGA 09 had sold 900k compared to 607k for the latest version.... 

That is a 30% decrease in sales...
