Forums - Gaming Discussion - HD is to Wii as PC is to HD

WTF dude, your contradict your self, you say that you don't like HD games because they are dumbed down, too arcady and easy, and then proceed to praise Nintendo despite the wii being further dumbed down from the HD games, having tons of easy arcady games designed for the non gamers, and well it's just full of party mini games.

I can understand if you like the wii and it's games, but it's saying stuff like this makes you lose all credibility.

Core games on consoles are arcade games that try to be core games and fail in it. HD consoles do have pure arcade games just like I wrote and thats what console games should be anyway, imo.

Now just because you have this backwards idea that a console should just play game and nothing more doesn't mean others feel the same, their is nothing wrong with having these other functions, after all we live in a world were devices do more than one thing, it's just convinient, and the Iphone proves this, otherwise it would have bombed...so let me ask you, what's so wrong about the HD consoles having all these media options added on top of gaming?

Did you miss few 'I think's and imo? Anyway, calm down. :)

pc is the pain in the ass >>> my girlfriend's mother

Tastes are relative. If you like pc gaming, play pc games. If you like playing Wii games, play Wii games. If you like playing games on the 360, play games on the 360. Who gives a shit how they compare? You should be happy enough with your choices to not need justify them to yourself or anyone else. Same goes with any other form of entertainment; movies, books, music, etc. Like what you like and realize that other people will like different things.

@vlad

I think you should also add the fact that PC has far more variety in games than HD consoles. PC actually has adventure games, simulation games, MMOs and MANY niche markets like Train Sims and Bus Sims that consoles probably will never get.

HD consoles have no niche markets whatsoever except fighting games.

Just look at all the amazing games that have come out for consoles that aren't on PC in the last year and a half: MGS4, Gears 2, Fable 2, Uncharted 2, Killzone 2, Demon's Souls. What exclusives does the PC have this year? Sims 3?

Bottom line is it's not worth it to me to blow all this money on a gaming rig to play a six months late port of Devil May Cry 4 with X16 anti-aliasing no matter how you spin it. Even Microsoft won't even port their OWN titles to their own OS: Gears 2, Halo 3, Fable 2 and now Alan Wake. You know theirs a problem the MS won't support PC gaming, and I'm not going to waste time or energy on a sinking ship, seems like Microsoft feels the same way.

Empire: Total War
Dawn of War 2
Sims 3
Sins of a Solar Empire
Warhammer Online

etc...

so you don't think it's worth to buy a $800 that will outlive your console and play games in better quality? Oh and let's not forget that PC games are cheaper. DMC4 was $20 cheaper than the console versions at release.

Anything above is exclusive. Thats just this year. I think that list can handle all three consoles exclusives pretty well. ;)

(Feel free to check other years too.)

;) no.

I don't need 5000 RTS games per year thanks. I'm not even going to list the Console games of this gen because it would just abuse any PC exclusive list of low-budget RTS games from no name indi studios you could come up with.

Seriously? Get this trash out of my face you just convined me to never get into PC gaming again.

Just because you don't know about these games and don't like some genres doesn't mean the PC doesn't have a good list of exclusives. According to your line of thought the only good games are those that are heavily advertised and are from big name publishers who spend ridiculous sums of cash on a single game, a good proportion of which solely on marketing and not the actual game. The PC has a large variety of games that most console only gamers are missing out on.

I really have no clue how you can comment from a position of ignorance. How many of the games on the list have you actually played? Just because the publishers haven't had the chance to market the games doesn't mean they're not good.

Seriously, I have no idea how people can call themselves a core gamer if they don't play on both consoles and PC.
