What's so special about those sales Soriku? They're like your average PSP game...

They started out like shit (2k-3k week 1?) then crawled a ton. They could've died off much faster but didn't.

Jeanne d'arc started out with a 5k first week and is now 200k.

Even crappy games like Valhalla Knights had similar "legs".

OK. But if we're comparing Wii legs vs. HD legs when it comes to non mainstream games the Wii has more examples which is what darth's been talking about. Valhalla Knights on Wii seems to have legs too, btw.

I understand the comparison, but I can also pull more games that sold well over time. Again, it's not the platform but the genre.

Hey, this is UK charts, forget NPD, Famitsu etc ...

How many games released over a year ago in UK are still in the charts?

I think any game released over that amount of time before but still charting must have fairly good legs.

As for Wii games having "bigger" legs than others, it's true to an extent, but the vast majority of Wii games spend less than one week in the UK charts. I would say that a better description of games that have legs is "casual", rather than the platform that they are on. You can tell which games will have legs from the target audience rather than the platform.

Compare Wii to PS3 in UK, despite having a far smaller installed base than Wii in UK PS3 has managed to sell four games over 600k through October, with November it will probably be 6 - FIFA 10 & COD6), compared to 5 for the Wii (should be 6 through November with Wii Sports Resort).

Of course the Wii games over 600k have sold multiple times better than the PS3 ones, and console sales have always been heavily weighted towards the top selling titles, but Wii has taken it to an extreme. Basically 6 Wii games have huge legs in the UK, the other are left to die.

Look at the UK top 40 every week, this is the best week for a long time for Wii, when was the last time that Wii had 3 games in the top 40 which weren't upgrades of games which have been charting since release over a year ago?

Looking at actual numbers New Super Mario Bros Wii sold 79000 first week in UK, while Wii Sports Resort sold 76000 units the same week. This means that NSMB Wii barely secured the first place. Will be interesting to follow the sales the rest of the year.

BTW. What happened to the threads with PAL charts? No post since week 43.

yeah NSMB first week definitely not so impressive. Hopefully though the game will define legs

AC II seems to have done rather well.
