The first article you linked to is from today, the second one from 11 months ago. Keep up the good work!

Thanks :)

If SONY wants an upgraded cell for the PS4 to insure easy backwards compatibility, they can still get IMB to develop the tech if they want.

4 ≈ One

isnt5 toshiba still developing the cell?

The problem with the cell is. it is extremely powerful at certain tasks. But others it flops hard.

What the cell needs is extremely complex software behind it. not more power. The can go for any processor with new and strange architecture

Nobody's perfect. I aint nobody!!!

Killzone 2. its not a fps. it a FIRST PERSON WAR SIMULATOR!!!! ..The true PLAYSTATION 3 launch date and market dominations is SEP 1st

I made a thread about this three days ago.

I think the main problem with the cell is it's name.
Really, who want's to be reminded of some lame movie every time they fire up a device?
Doomed from the start imo

Proud Sony Rear Admiral

i think PS4 if its up to exist some day, should have a big improvement in GPU power and memory size... the HD its up to 1080p and PS3 already deal with that... so by enabling physics in the GPU and give the console more memory to sharper textures that could be the leap that is needed to the next gen and to deal with 3D gaming that i believe to be the next big thing...

Proudest Platinums - BF: Bad Company, Killzone 2 , Battlefield 3 and GTA4

Well the CELL was never going to be everyones cup of tea.

I've lost count of the number of people that defend it and claim all DEVS in the world bar a handful are "LAZY DEVS"

The fact is in video game terms the CELL is the proverbial square peg in a round hole.

It was designed for multi processor supercomputing. Climate modelling and such.

Interesting... very interesting.... Perhaps teh cell is not as perfect for a games console as we once thought? lawlz

Long Live SHIO!

If they don't use a cell, BC in the PS4 will be difficult.
