One film I really think is under-rated and has never really made it to america from what I hear is Snatch.

snatch is a good movie... not great.... brad pitt is sensational in it though.

Agreed, that film gave me respect for Brad Pitt as an actor, he is near flawless.

What do foreigners call foreign movies, anyway?

Thank you. I'm always up for good movie recommendations. Would appreciate it if you more to the thread.

Pretty good list. Audition is definitely my favorite film of Miike's. He usually goes a little too "big" for my taste, but that one haunted me.

Has anyone seen Red Cliff?

One of John Woo recent great's.

I though Snatch and Lock Stock were pretty well known so I left those out, two of my favorite movies out there. Although those two movies and Tarantino movies are very similar, not that it's a bad thing I enjoy both Ritchie and Tarantino films usually.

My next list before I leave to my vacation is gonna be a top 5 or top 10 'most messed up' movies I have seen (American or otherwise).

Thanks to Blacksaber for the sig!

I went looking for some of these films on Netflix's instant movies and wound up watching Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Amazing achievement, that film. I'm still in awe by what I've seen.

Actually, from fairly early on in his career (after Kalifornia) I have had a lot of respect for Brad Pitt ... For someone who is (mostly) known for being a pretty-boy actor he has done quite a few movies that show he is quite talented.
