Another negative for n4g....

N4G is a fanboy website, really. They're not real gamers. They treat the gaming industry like its a fucking football game, fuck those guys.

Well,this is my opinion, but i think VGchartz overstimate too much X360 and WII, especially WII, if you see german sales for August and Semptember WII and X360 are too overtracked, PS3 is undertracked. I like this site as a concept but i hate when this site is taken as real dates, because this is an estimates site, nothing more, I can create a site and like Vgchartz and create some sales, estimates as real date, this is not good in ANY way. And N4g isn't the only site bashing Vgchartz but Neogaf and others site with respectable users. Again, i like this site, but is right to share facts. Oh and N4g users are fanboys.

Well, VGC was very inaccurate and was well known to be putting random numbers and adjusting them way before they totally changed it and seems to getting really accurate numbers now with NPD.

My respect for VGC has went up a lot since "2.0". People are just used to the past, like "PS3 with no games." :]

as far as I know there is no console/games sales tracker in the US that does not extrapolate (estimatoin from a sample of data). NPD uses the same method if i am correct. So technically there is no accurate source to compare data to (at least in the US). What vgchartz does is the same as what the NPD does. And maybe you could create a web page, but will you take the time too? and will it be as accurate as vgchartz or NPD?

2.0's too cluttered and slow

Even back when VGC was less accurate, at least it had the balls to admit they're wrong and adjust numbers from time to time. So really, extrapolation errors are weeded out over time, and really the most glaring potential inaccuracies are restricted to the most recent data.

Though I have to say, if you just never ever read the comments, N4G is not a bad site. It's like Digg, but just for games. Sure, some times you have articles whose sole purpose is to piss people off and get hits, but those are usually avoided just by reading the title.

I know that there are _individuals_ that are annoying as hell and everyone is best advised to just completely ignore them (because you can't argue with them and insulting them makes you sink to their lvl).

Still, I can't support your tendency to blame the whole fanbase of a console for the behaviour of these (individuals).

Did you even bother to check ioi's response?

I so agree with N4G. I got flamed because I wanted to correct an sale error. Now my thread is suddenly deleted or moved.
