Uncharted 2 did aprox 800k first week, and is sitting at 1.6million right now. It also moved aprox. 50k PS3 units the week it was released. Do you think God of War III will give a similar systems bump?

Which game will sell more LTD?

I think God of War III will have a slightly bigger first week sales since it has more of a hardcore following already. LTD Uncharted 2 will sell more. 

1. No matter what, U2 will always have more Holiday seasons on the market. It will already have a huge 2+million lead by the time GOW III is released.

2. God of War III is being released in March. It's legs will be nice and it'll see a nice bump during holidays 2010, but not the kind of bump that games released in the holiday season see. U2 on the other hand was released right between the huge price drop and the holiday season. Perfect timing for release, while GOW3 comes out in a period when people are broke from XMas and not as willing to spend money.

3. U2 has multiplayer and co-op which leads to more people buying it because their friends bought it and want to play online with them.

4. U2 will continue to have DLC released, which leads to it staying in headlines and discussions longer.

Overall I think it'll be close but U2 will edge out GOW III in the sales department.

GOW III will outsell Uncharted 2 in NA LTD,not sure about others.

Side Notes:

Uncharted 2 has a marketing deal with Pepsi (or is it Coke?) in California and other select states.

God of War III Demo will be released and probably advertised on the District 9 Blu-Ray.

I think GOW3 will outsell U2 because by then the PS3 will have a higher install base of 30mil+. GOW3 should launch 1.5mil first week if $ony markets it right.

I still say GoW3 will sell better.

This is wild guess:

I think Uncharted 2 will sell 5M+ by the end of 2012.
I think God of War 3 will sell 3-4M+ by the end of 2012.

Third person shooter games are more popular i think.
