Forums - Sony - Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier - Not Naughty Dog

I just reaslised this PS2/PSP title was developed by High Impact Games.

They did the dev for the Ratchet and Clank series on PSP. Obviously Insomniac held on to the franchise for the PS3.

What is your opinion on past High Impact Games titles? Has Naughty Dog gone and done a Crash Bandicoot on Jak? Does this mean there will be no Jak on PS3?

High Impact games may not be as talented as Naughty Dog, but Naughty Dog hasn't sold Jak and Daxter to Sierra and it's still Sony exclusive, so I would say no. There is hope for Jak and Daxter.

To me it sounds good, let 2 of the best developing companies focus on one console, and then another developeing team try to expand it.

That way, if HIG's games suck, the main series wont lose popularity since it was made by different teams.

The. = FF7 Confirmed!

Playing it on PS2 right now. Pretty fun game actually despite feeling dated.

but still good!!!! well, actually I haven't played it yet, but I liked R&C on PSP, besides High Impact is half Naughty Dog. after all those years I could gladly buy it just to hear Daxter's voice again ^_^ (and his dark form looks awesome).

ND was never the owner, but merely the developer. The IP's owner was Universal Studios.

I liked size matters, but i didn't like the demo of the lost frontier. The auto aim on the gun parts was terrible and the dark daxter parts were not fun.

Duh. You only just figured that out?

Insomniac and ND don't waste development time on the PSP. That's for High Impact and Ready at Dawn (who are MUCH better than High Impact).

ND > Insomniac >>>>>>> RaD >>>>>> High Impact

The LBP on PSP wasn't done by MediaMolecule. The God of War on PSP wasn't done by SantaMonica. The PSP Ratchets weren't from Inzomniac. Daxter on PSP wasn't from Naughty Dog. Motorstorm on PSP wasn't done by Evolution.

It means nothing.

4 ≈ One

As per Dgc10808 - this means nothing about Jak on PS3. Pretty much every big franchise on PSP has been handled by another developer - R&C, PSP, etc.

ND still own the reins of Jak just as Insomniac still own the reins of R&C.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...
