Well I disagree, but thats MY OPINION.

Also LBP is in 3D, its just a Sidescroller

So you're saying you see no advantages to beign in 2D, and that every game could be improved by being made 3-D?

Yes, thats exactly what I am saying

100% agreed...More 2D please

He's damn right! I hope this means we will see more 2D goodness from Nintendo in the future!

So, say.... New Super Mario Bros Wii.

Better in 3D?

Or Kirby Superstar?

Or Super Metroid?

Or Sonic?

@Vetteman

how is LBP in 3D?

the core gameplay is played in a 2D way right?

I mean even NSMB Wii is semi 2D like LBP I think (???)

Everything that is made in LBP is 3D,  you just only see it from one perspective.

As for the core game play part, technically yes since it is a side scroller, and you only have to directions you can move.  The mulitple planes they used was just a way to enhance the sidescroller feel.

I dont know anything about NSMB Wii

vetteman, you're confusing polygonal graphics with 3D. Little Big Planet is what's known as 2.5D, same as Super Mario Bros Wii.

As for improving, not always. Sprites use less resources, for one thing, so they improve performance (unless the game has loads of complex sprites).

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

I know nothing of NSMB Wii, but I imagine that it would be a better game if it was in 3D, like SMG is.

As long as the gameplay is great, there's room for all types of games and all sorts of ideas... and i'm glad to see more and more nice 2D games on Wii, Wiiware and DS: i think the Nintendo audience is the perfect "niche" for such titles, and i hope they'll be successful...

Now, will NSMBWii be more fun than SMG? For me, that's not so sure, as Galaxy is really one of the most amazing games i've ever played, and it has brought me tons of fun... but anyway, both are great games, and offer very different experiences: they complete each other in the Wii library, and don't compete one against the other... :)

Same thing with the Zelda's: Link's Awakening and Link to the Past were awesome, but i'm really (really) glad to have experienced all the 3D episodes as well... :)
