Cam: The reality is that the ACB is trying to rate games according to its guidelines. Yes, we need an overhaul of the system and an R classification, but the focus for this review can’t be the framework that brought about the content, but the content itself. And that content is lacking. This game has been completely compromised and just isn’t that much fun to play. The original is a far superior experience.
If Valve was given more time – and the release date was delayed here – we’re positive it could have come up with a revised version of the game that conformed to the MA 15+ classification and was still compelling to play. Instead, we have a shoddy rush-job for sale that damages Valve’s reputation and insults the intelligence of Australian gamers. To be honest, we’d prefer no release of Left 4 Dead 2 than this release.
To be clear – if you can get your hands on an unedited version of this game, revise the score up to high 8s. If not, sit this one out.
