Rules

1. You had to have played at least enough of the game to form an honest opinion about it

(playing it for 5 minutes is NOT enough time, nor is watching a friend play the game)

2. Users with less than 100 posts cannot score a game unless they back up their post with very good reasons as to why they rated it so.

3. scores have to be on a 10 point scale with 7 being average, and anything longer than 2 digits (Eg: 9.75) won't be counted.

4. If you score a game under a 5 or under, you have to go into great detail as to why you gave it such a low score.

5. A game must have at least 15 people that gave it a score to be counted.

6. If you score a game more than once none of your scores will count

The thing that really stands out most in this game to me is the weapons. They were extremely fun.

The multiplayer was a little disappointing due to bugs, the necessity of lock-on, and a terrible framerate.

I'll give it an even 8.0 for daring and some clever ideas, even though it stumbles in a lot of design areas.

Had some good and original ideas, just didn't execute.

Great graphics for wii too. I'd give it an 8.5

"Pier was a chef, a gifted and respected chef who made millions selling his dishes to the residents of New York City and Boston, he even had a famous jingle playing in those cities that everyone knew by heart. He also had a restaurant in Los Angeles, but not expecting LA to have such a massive population he only used his name on that restaurant and left it to his least capable and cheapest chefs. While his New York restaurant sold kobe beef for $100 and his Boston restaurant sold lobster for $50, his LA restaurant sold cheap hotdogs for $30. Initially these hot dogs sold fairly well because residents of los angeles were starving for good food and hoped that the famous name would denote a high quality, but most were disappointed with what they ate. Seeing the success of his cheap hot dogs in LA, Pier thought "why bother giving Los Angeles quality meats when I can oversell them on cheap hotdogs forever, and since I don't care about the product anyways, why bother advertising them? So Pier continued to only sell cheap hotdogs in LA and was surprised to see that they no longer sold. Pier's conclusion? Residents of Los Angeles don't like food."

"The so-called "hardcore" gamer is a marketing brainwashed, innovation shunting, self-righteous idiot who pays videogame makers far too much money than what is delivered."

Hum. The controls were so customizable as to call them close to perfect for anyone willing to put in the effort. The default was pretty solid, and changing it was fairly intuitive and easy. The graphics were top notch from a technical perspective. They managed to do a lot of effect that were claimed impossible on the Wii. That said, they need to are an artist like yesterday. It is probably the definition of the generic FPS look.

Guns were pretty fun, and had a decent selection. The scanning elements worked extremely well too. My only complaint about them is there wasn't enough to scan. Made me think about going back to Metroid Prime 3 to get my exploration fix. The level design left much to be desired though. The enemy locations were predictable, and that killed a lot of it for me. It is also a bitch trying to head shot a creature with no clearly defined head. I dunno if that is a pro or a con though.

Overall I'd have to give it a 7.5 Really good first effort, and the sequel is definitely something to get excited for. Future work from HVS is something to watch as well. If this is just them going through growing pains of transitioning from licensed shovelware to real gaming then they might end up a top notch developer. Still a lot to prove though.

6.0/10

all the Wii visual, multiplayer, control talk aside...the game is just not as fun as it could be. Gunfights lack any sort of excitement found in other games. Level design and set pieces are very average. nothing stands out.

If I gave 8 to Gears of war...I think 6 is fair for this overachiever

+Graphics look great in a lot of areas.
+Fully customizable controls are great.
+Really neat guns. This is the good stuff right here.

-ASE puzzles were way too similar.
-Story mode was a yawner.
-Buggy
-Framerate issues

All in all a decent FPS, but nothing to really shout home about.

7.6/10

Great Graphics but poor art design
Great weapons but mediocore level design
Great online but compromised by severe bug issues
Fantastic customization of controls
Ultimately a fun but forgetable game

A for effort but B- on actual execution

7.5/10

8.0

It is a genery FPS, but the only one the enough decent on the Wii. (I haven't played Metroid 3 or any CoD).
The real deal is the control: once you have played this FPS, when you play another traditional FPS (on 360, CGN, PS2-3...) you will feel that the control in unnatural.

MY ZELDA COLLECTION

From a technical standpoint, the graphics are great. The controls are good as well, with full customization, and also the HUD customizing. Also, 12 players online with plenty of game modes to boot.

It all sounds so good on paper.

Unfortunately, the game just doesn't play well and isn't much fun. The online has too many game breaking bugs, matchmaking takes too long, lag issues, hits not registering, etc. Single player campaign is one of the most cheesiest I have ever played.

All in all it's not a bad game, just not very good. I'd still rate it an 7.7, because it does most things right, and really laid the groundwork for Wii fps games.

8.5

+ great visuals
+ nice sounds
+ amazing controls
+ Decent plot
+ multiplayer was fine until hackers ruined it
+ best shotgun in a video game ever! (other than the timesplitters 2 double barrel :))

- needed cutscenes and cinematics BADLY
- a greater variety of enemies was required - especially human enemies
- needed more open space sections and set pieces
- ASE was underused - should have worked in the same way as Samus's scan visor
