Forums - Sales - Famitsu Estimates (November 2009)

Well those NSMBW numbers are for firstweek shipments estimates though, not first week sales estimates. I guess Famitsu expects the game to have a great first week (but it doesn´t say if they expect the game to sell out it´s first week shipments the first week) and great legs with eventually reaching multimillion selling status.

this and it applies to all the titles listed which explains why some titles would almost the same life time sales as first week shipment (Fushigi no Dungeon 4, EOE etc). Not all titles would sell out its first week shipment in the first week!

MikeB predicts that the PS3 will sell about 140 million units by the end of 2016 and triple the amount of 360s in the long run.

so according to them TOG, FF13, Phantasy Star 2 & EOE are essecntially bombs = very bad sales

Tales of Graces actually seem moderate. The main thing I noticed about Tales games for Nintendo consoles they seem to do better in the rest of the World.

No, those ToG numbers wouldn't be moderate. That would make it the worst selling main title.

There was only 1 Tales game on Nintendo system that made it outside Japan, and it only sold good because GC was RPG starved and Nintendo itself helped promote the game.

The last couple of mainline tales did around 250k-330k in Japan. I am not combining tales of vesperia together since I think that the ps3 version is almost good as new.

(PS3) Final Fantasy XIII : 1,01-1,36M / 1,00-1,50M

- This would be a brutal bomba, it will easily sell around 1.5M in its first week for a total of 1.9M since it will be very frontloaded.

(PSP) Kingdom Hearts : 240-330k / 450-580k

- I'm sure it will outsell the DS Kingdom Hearts, this is more of a main title. It will match Crisis Core and Dissidia sales.

(PSP) Phantasy Star Portable 2 : 200-260k / 270-350k

- Great drop, the first title sold over 600k.

(Wii) Tales of Graces : 200-260k / 230-290k

- A simple Tales of Symphonia spin-off managed to sell 212k units so there is a considerable Tales userbase on Wii. At least it should sell over 300k, better 350k since it is a main title.

Those NSMB Wii numbers aren't first week, but first shipment. Same for all other games.

They were on DS. Tales of the Tempest, the first DS Tales (not a main game though) was very bad and that also affected the sales of the later 2 DS Tales.

And there is no reason why not to count both Vesperias, so Vesperia basically sold ~500k.

I mean come on, Vesperia sold ~190k on Xbox360, the "hated" console in Japan. ToS:DotNW, a low-budged spin-off did 220k. It wasn't even made by Namco Tales Studio, or at least not by Team Symphonia (Symphonia, Abyss , Vesperia) and Team Destiny(Rebirth, Destiny, Destiny 2, Destiny: Director's Cut). And since we're at it, Team Destiny's games are more liked and sell more than Symphonia's. Graces is also their game, while Vesperia was Symphonia's.

I don't see Graces selling less than 350-400k LTD. (in Japan alone)

I hate sounding like another certain user on this site, but I think those numbers are just too high. I will buy this game and most likely love this game, but I don't see it possibly selling that high on one system alone in Japan.
