i actually do wish limewire and all that stuff was just gone...stop the freaking sharing >_>....it ruins the economy, killz jobs, killz our beloved gaming industry, its a big finger to the people that worked hard for the content they give us, damn pirates

Not everyone will give 60-70$ off their wallet for a game they will play for about 1 month. Heck, they might not even like the game when they buy it.

Bottom line, some people rather save the 60$ for something important...

^That's why they should wait until the game goes on sale, and buy games that last longer.

Agreed pirating games is terrible. I hope people will stop it

Long Live SHIO!

true, which is why i buy every single PSP game im able to, even if its crap like daxter for $5 on amazon. i love my PSP and what these pirates do are horrible. good thing japan is keeping it alive.

also i wasn't aware Wii and DS were pirate-able weird, i knew of 360 but not the nintendo twins.

So is PS3 the ONLY gaming console this gen thats un-pirate-able?!

Patience is not a common virtue present in everybody...

Look at it that way ;

"I'm broke, I must buy some food and clothes...but I want to play too...

Should I wait or...wait, there's a torrent of the game right in front of my screen! Everyone does it, so why shouldn't I? Those devs will make profit from other people..."

This is a scenario I imaged for someone who likes to play PC games.

Selfishness, greed and lust(?).

Also, on Consoles(especially on HD twins), I think Piracy decreased a lot. The fact that games only shine for their online this gen...

Cant remember the last game I pirated......but it was during the XBOX180 days. I will probably pirate old PC games I cant find complete for a good price, but theres not much older stuff on PC I want ATM. I dont care if people pirate, odds are they cant afford it anyways and devs arent losing any sales.

Assuming every console out there was pirate free, the people currently pirating would most likely buy used if at all. I consider most console piracy stealing from gamestop or gamefly, not the publishers.

Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.

Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.

Yea, go ask your mommy for a new game instead. That's what we do, and that's the only real way to get games! Those filthy pirates ... mommy will buy us anything, so only an immature moron would pirate!

You are right about one thing, though. Some people really are idiots ...

Funny thing about music vs video game piracy. In the music industry it is commonplace to pay $10-15 for a new CD that has one or two "hits" on it, thus forcing you to purchase a ton of content you don't care for. As a result, users started downloading only the songs they cared about, and thus CD sales dropped. Ironically, surveys and polls have since determined that users who download/swap/steal the songs they actually like (and that you can hear on the radio for free anyways...) are way more likely to purchase music (and infact, through itunes etc, do purchase) than users who do not steal/download/swap music. So in all true reality, its the music pirates that spend the most money on music anyways. Whereas video game pirates typically are pirating the games to make a profit for themselves and to take away from the industry as a whole. To compare music to video game media just doesn't work quite the same.

Not only that Music doesn't take a big investment. To make a good game you generally have to spend millions and millions of dollars and a long time to develop it. To make a song all it takes is some creativity. I could put out an album myself right now if I wanted to. Music will never die. Even if the industry died and there was no money to be made people would still be putting out music in their free time to express themselves or for whatever reason they want. No ones making Modern Warfare 3 in their spare time. Only simple games would be made.

I'm not saying piracy would kill the video game industry. It never will. But I'm just saying the music industry is a much different world than the video game industry. Financially they are completely different.
