I'd class some of them as mediocre tbh, And most of them are available for the pc btw.
Well you can make a long list of wii games as well. And some of the games on that list are exclusive, so you shouldn't post them on a list that's called HD twin games. It's unfair to compare 2 consoles vs 1(Halo, MGS,L4D, MAG, GOW, Killzone, etc), so those games don't belong on that list if you're going to compare it with only 1 console.
Zelda: the twilight princess
Metroid prime 3
Metroid prime trilogy(you listed remakes, this remake is even better =])
World of Goo
New super Mario bros wii
Super smash bros brawl
Mario kart: wii
Super Mario Galaxy
Okami
Boom Blox: Bash party, Boom Blox
Punch-out!!
Super Paper Mario
Little kings story
Tiger Woods PGA tour 10- Wii is the best version by far
Zack and Wiki:...
Guitar hero/rock band DJ Hero games
RE4: Wii edition - It's the best version of the game by far.
Muramasa: The demon blade
No more heroes
And the list goes on as well
Ps: Games like Heavy Rain aren't out yet, so why add it to your list? I can add No more heroes 2, metroid: Other M, Super Mario galaxy 2, Red steel 2, Zelda: Wii,etc then... We all know the games I listed will score good as well...
At this point, I'd say there's general failure on both sides. 3rd parties are leaving money at the table by not supporting the most mainstream, best selling console in history with prime releases. Logically it's just insane, and it may even be too late since no real stable markets were uilt early in the platform's cycle (except by Nintendo). Comparing the industry response to PS2 versus Wii is laughable.
Nintendo also clearly needs to be doing more to get choice content. Even if it's ports... there's no good reason that brands like Tekken, Assassin's Creed, GTA, Metal Gear or Army of Two can make it to PSP (a platform that literally can't seem to sell games) and not Wii. The only reason I can think of is Nintendo themselves. Less apathy, more action.
all this is fault of one entity : Nintendo themselve
I have repeated it a lot of time : Wii is suficiently powerfull to handle adpated HD games
but since ninty is not pushing this way (the non-Ninty hardcore games way I mean), they dont get those games ...
Wii 2009 line-up : another Mario ....
Wii 2009 line-up : another Mario + CoD + AC + Tekken !
Time to Work !
I love it when people say its 'Nintendos fault'. What were they suppose to do? They went 2 generations where they made some of the most powerful systems on the market and practically coddled Third Parties trying to get their support (the N64 and GameCube). Instead, they went running to the weakest system and ignored Nintendo completely.
Now Nintendo went an entirely different route, trying to develop a system that was cheap to develop for with the highest userbase and had multiple control options. And instead, all the third parties did the opposite. They ran to the systems that had the better graphics and were the most powerful.
Its hardly Nintendos fault. They've been following the trends of the industry for years. Its more like third parties have been making some kind of conscious decision to skip over Nintendo systems ever since the N64. And even if Nintendo went out there and tried to pay for third party exclusives (which they don't do), many third parties probably wouldn't do it. And why wold they, when Microsoft and Sony does the same thing and they have quite a preference for HD.
The only way Nintendo is going to get third parties to work on a Nintendo system now is if they have the best graphics and a clear lead in the start of the market next gen.

Even if you're going to keep using that term, Nintendo isn't just targeting that market. Games like Mario Galaxy, Twilight Princess, Metroid Prime 3, Smash Bros Brawl, Fire Emblem Path of Radiance and even New Super Mario Bros Wii arguably are all games focused away from this group. If anything, the only games that hit that market are the 'Wii' titles and games like Nintendogs. |
Doesn't matter. When it comes down to it are the third party core titles being supported? F*** no. That tells you something about the wildly large installed base. Third party devs wanted to use the Wii in the beginning, now they just want to stay away from it.

Gamers like you would enjoy all the games Nintendo isn't getting. The majority of Wii owners wouldn't give a crap and all the third party devs know this.
