Braid came out later on PS3 right?

There is your answer?

Is Resistance 1 came out today on 360 would it be rated as high as it is on PS3?

I think if it would be a new release (without the PS3 version existing), it probably would be close. I think graphics plays less of a factor with regard to that game scoring 86% on average as there were better looking games available at the time. IMO Resistance: Fall of Man to this day remains a solid FPS.

An exactly identical version would of course not be possible as the game for example includes great 7.1 audio the 360 simply isn't capable of supporting. I think some early PS3 games would potentially even have scored better on the 360, like the Motorstorm games (even with slighty downgraded graphics, controls and audio).

Really?  There is so much more quality competition now that I don't think it would get within 5% of its original score.

That's not knocking the game, but I don't think that any game, regardless of platform or genre would/should receive the same score several years after release.

As for Braid, I think the original score was too low.  95 easily from me when it first came out.

What?  I'm sorry, but if R:FoM released on any console today it would get something in the 7's range, the game just wasn't that good. It wasn't bad, but it also wasn't anything too memorable in any terms.

It only scored as high as it did because it was a launch title and there wasn't much else on the PS3 at the time.

As for Braid, it probably got docked in points a little because it's a year old game and I'm assuming it's a straight port with nothing extra.  Besides, it's only 3 points, who cares?  It's not like those three points even changed the tier it was in.

Keep in mind it's MikeB.

I would just ignore him.

No matter what Braid is overated no matter what system you buy it for

who cares.
All I know is Braid developer ain't getting my money...
Teach him to release it first on the 360 and then release it on the PS3 in the middle of the biggest 6 months of game release on the PS3 this gen..
As it is there are so many good games releasing now I have no time for that game..

PS3-Xbox360 gap : 1.5 millions and going up in PS3 favor !

PS3-Wii gap : 20 millions and going down !

I don't know the details but someone claimed, earlier in the thread, that Braid was offered to the PSN a while ago and they declinded it. Perhaps it's not the developers fault.

I think Resistance: Fall of Man is a solid shooter.

But complain to the VGChartz reviewer for giving the game a similar score in 2009 if you want:

Weirdo...

Naughty Dog: "At Naughty Dog, we're pretty sure we should be able to see leaps between games on the PS3 that are even bigger than they were on the PS2."

PS3 vs 360 sales

cos it's a really late port I think.

It's a really late port and they deducted .3. Who cares.

I was thinking the same...
