Modern warefare just launched and many people including myself are knees deep into the game, so my question is do you think Assasins creed 2's sales will be hurt by having a launch only 1 week after COD? I think it might because many action gamers will have picked up COD, but I am hoping it pulls :D

If it does, not by much. Besides Modern Warfare 2, Assassin's Creed II was easily the most anticpated game this year.

I really hope not, but I think AC2 can pull around 1.5mish if it's successful, if it really is hurt, than around 1.2m

edit: Considering MW1 did 1.5million first week on both consoles, and might do upto 9million for the sequel.. and AC1 did around 1.2m, AC2 might do arond 2m hopefully..but again AC2 is not hyped nearly enough as MW2 was

I don't think the sales of AC2 will be affected by MW2 by that much.

well i'm gettin' AC2 on release day next week, and i haven't got MW2, hopefully me not buying it will end the franchise...

Yep, only 1 week after MW 2, and only 1 weekend most importantly. I want another week playing MW 2 first, but I think I will manage to tear myself away just long enough to play the game

I think there will be loads of people still playing the multiplayer, and given that it is even more addictive than the first I do think that it will have a decent effect on the sales

Nope I don't think so.
It's not like people don't have the money for 2 games. Besides that, one is strictly for singleplayer and the other one mainly for multiplayer sessions.
