Forums - Gaming - What Franchises Does Activision Have Left?

I have feeling that CoD has finally met its peak, and that the next installment won't sell as big.

Guitar Hero has already hit its peak and is on decline.

What do you guys think?

Around the Network

The only ones I know they still own is Spiderman, James Bond, Tony Hawk and WoW...

Former something....

Gun and True Crime?

Yeah, it is doubtful that even Modern Warfare 3 will beat MW 2.

Blizzard are going to keep on bringing money so they are not going to face financial issues, but they do need some innovation

What about Mech Warrior?

Pitfall is due for a comeback any day now.

don't say GH is one decline so simply

5 years ago FIFA was seens as ont he decline too

things change in this undustry

but Activison has COD

All hail the KING, Andrespetmonkey

Errr... all the Blizzard franchises and the cash cow that is WoW? Starcraft, Diablo and Warcraft are all pretty big franchises still.

Some new franchises would be nice though.

they just made dj hero :P...

other then that I dont know...

I don't know, but their biggest potential franchise would be some sort of game for Natal where you kick Kotick in the nuts.

Licensed franchises:

Bakugan
Barbie
Cabela's Hunting series
Chaotic
Dancing With the Stars
Dreamworks animated features (Ice Age, Madagascar, Shrek, etc.)
History Channel
James Bond
Rapala Fishing
Spiderman
Transformers
World Series of Poker
X-Men related films

Original franchises:

Big League Sports
Blur
Call of Duty
DJ Hero
Geometry Wars
Gun
Guitar Hero
Marvel: Ultimate Alliance
Prototype
Singularity
Tony Hawk
Vigilante 8

This list isn't complete, but it gives a good indication of what Activision has been working on. I'm not sure what their relationship is with id Software regarding Quake, Wolfenstein and Doom, but they've published the last few of all three of these franchises. I know Raven Software made Wolfenstein, so I'd say it's more than merely a publishing agreement.
