It's a game that comes with a complex piece of hardware, in order to make economic use of such production, it makes sense to release them at different times for different regions.

I certainly wouldn't use word complex to describe the PS3 eye.

More like low quality or cheap camera.

Then again it's rather complex when compared to "hardware" you get with Mario Kart or Link Crossbow training :D

And that is why I hope this game dies in a pit of fire. I WANT MY EIGHT DAYS!

What a round about way to make a dig at the Wii...

The point is that anything beyond disks and manuals mean that extra production is involved, and in order to make economic use of that production it's good to separate the release dates. This is true for even simple pieces of plastic, and even the pedometer that comes with Pokémon HG/SS.

A game I'm developing with some friends:

It is largely a technical exercise but feedback is appreciated.

EU sales have been:

Week 1: 30,823
Week 2: 33,113
Week 3: 34,154
Week 4: 35,851
Week 5: 32,353
Week 6: 38,729
Week 7: 47,459

Solid and consistent sales so far.. and no NA or JP release yet. I expect even more with the coming weeks. I don't get why people are claiming this is a flop, since it seems like a pretty solid hit to me, and more importantly, it's moving a lot of Playstation Eye cameras.. which will become important when the Sony motion control releases.

to support your point :

I have seen Eyepet 2 times in the 8h p.m. NEWS on the main channel here in France

it is not Wii but it is more casual that any other HD title that are NEVER on the main channel NEWS

too bad Sony forgot to release it on NA or to generate more hype !

Forgot? :p I thought they purposely postponed it? Probably to have it team up with the motion control

Wow, if they market this bigtime as a tie in to the wand, get it on news channels this could be Sony's wii sports, meaning, something everyone talks about at the office as the "cool"new thing.....as long as the price is right for a possible bundle.

Why are people talking about the wand in relation to eyepet..? The two items are not related.

And comparing eyepet to Wii sports is just wayyyy off.

They both need the PS Eye to work.

Eye Pet is bundled with PS Eye for the most part, so every Eye Pet sold is a potential Wand buyer.

but wont the wand come with a camera?  surely it will.

Also Eyepet can be bought without a camera... I already had a camera so I just bought the game.

I dont see eyepet as a way to push the wand.... thats a stretch

There will likely be things the same as EyePet. Buy the wands with or without the camera.

Red - I know, thats why i said for the most part

I wouldn't say its a way to push the wand, jut a way to get the PS Eye's into homes... Which could turn into PSwand users.

We will see in the long run... They will probably patch the wands into EyePet somehow as some kind of toys for the pet or something.

@carl

well they need to hurry up then.... because although at first you are all smiley and wide eyed, admiring the cute litter critter and its funny ways.... after a while its a major drag... and not too accurate.

for once i actually agree with what you say, i love my eyepet, but it can be frustrating, it took me ages to pass the trampoline toy test, because the lighting in my room kept on messing with my psEye.

it's the future of handheld

Its not way off. Youd be surprised how many pharmacists i work with in their 40's need to "get on the wii fit" and how many of my aunts and uncles want my cousin to "bring the wii sports" to christmas gatherings.

Im not talking sales im talking about something that gets people talking in the office or at work. That is all. And i am right.
