Forums - Sales Discussion - Eye Pet is creeping up on us?

EyePet aint really targetted at us though is it?

Kids will be screaming for it, it gets the PS Eye into homes, then Parents/ Bro's/ Sisters or whatever will already have the Eye available... So why not also get the wands if they are usable for a game you own or want?

Not the best technique for generating interest, but it's still interest nevertheless.

Well, when the wand launchesi expect a bunch more games just like EyePet to launch alongside...
And a Wii Sports like game to launch bundled with it. Something like the demo we saw at E3/GC.

We could have a million seller "PS3 Paint!" game or something

Why are people talking about the wand in relation to eyepet..? The two items are not related.

And comparing eyepet to Wii sports is just wayyyy off.

Its not way off. Youd be surprised how many pharmacists i work with in their 40's need to "get on the wii fit" and how many of my aunts and uncles want my cousin to "bring the wii sports" to christmas gatherings.

Im not talking sales im talking about something that gets people talking in the office or at work. That is all. And i am right.

It is way off... you clearly havent played eyepet, it is nothing like the social experience that wii sports is.  if anything it is a very solitary game.  Anyone else in the cam frame can just mess up the game.

Well, based on whats happening with sales in Others its behaving very similar. I never said anything about volume. Its got people talking thus steady and increased sales 7 weeks counting. I never said it would be a groupgame, i simply said people would be talking about it that normally dont talk about videogames.

The numbers seem to back this up, eh? Unless everyones finiishing Assassins creed 2, COD MW2, and Uncharted in successive weeks and theyre all looking for their next fix.

I doubt il be getting either unless there is a BIG game i want that will NEED either Natal/Wand.

I like my controllers the way they are

I'm selling Oblivion and Skate 2 to get Eyepet. Not for me but for my kids, though I'm partly getting it for the PSEye for future gaming purposes (there seem to be a fre PSEye games on the PSN that might be interesting. Including possibly 1 half of the motion control hardware requirements, if there are any motion control games I fancy playing once it comes out.

huh? What is it?

I want it!

There's a video editor but that's not a game.

Typo sorry. Looks like you read "fre" to mean "free" which is totally understandable. But actually it was meant to be "few". If you look at your keyboard you can see how I could make that mistake as an amateur typist who can type at a reasonable speed but with poor accuracy

Unless Natal /Wand get some decent (at least AA) action/shooter/RPG/blood and guts titles then these peripherals are not going to especially appeal to the current install base for either PS3 or 360, at least not to the point where the current install base feels like they need to get into the new control system.

Those who have PS3 and who own Eyepet are good potential Wand buyers because of the type of game Eyepet is and the demographic it appeals to. The sales of Eyepet is is good indicator of the marketability of the Wand to the current install base, because it is an indicator of the size of the demographic who will be attracted to some of the games that will come with the Wand. If Eyepet gets decent sales with long, steady legs this is a good sign for Wand (Gem?) with the current install base. If Eyepet fades away to nothingness in the new year then Sony may find problems with its planned game lineup for Wand's launch. It'll be an interesting one to watch.

We'll be cracking out our Eyepet this week for my son's birthday. I'll let you know what I think, and more importantly what he thinks (he's really grooving on Fat Princess at the moment, loves running around and freeziing the enemy, so it'll be quite a change of pace / genre).

i still don't understand why they don't release this in the other zones, you would of thought it was a no brainer for xmas,

also on the wand/natal motion control, you would of thought that most people who own a ps3/360 will buy it wouldn't you or maybe it's just me

Well if it is aimed at kids then my daughters comment after playing it at her friends of "it's ok but it gets boring fast" will not help the Sony camp

Get ready to play Ape Escape with the wands

And Eyepet can easily be a group game in my experience, my neighbour and I spent a whole evening playing it together at one point
