Looking at Ea's financials, lay-offs and recent statements... It looks like it's going back to their old ways.
In the wilderness we go alone with our new knowledge and strength.

In fairness, Nintendo milks franchises too. Plus, they make bank off hardware and licensing, two things that are off-limits to third-parties like EA.

noname will bake a delicious cake, and then eat it.

The plan to make those two games into multi-media series was hatched long before the first game was launched. For reference's sake, they were expecting Mirror's Edge to sell "at least" 3,000,000 copies (with most of those sales presumably occuring at full price). Dead Space, which got its own animated movie AND spinoff, presumably was supposed to do even better. My guess is that they're releasing the sequels with the hope that they'll catch on the second time around. But I do think it's fair to say that the two titles really did do that badly.
CoD Vs. BF ...
CoD wins. It has huge maps like BF, but has 100 times more custimization. There acctually is a huge differnce from CoD4:MW -> MW2.
BFBC -> BFBC2 not so much. Most of the guns, buildings and vehichles are exact same or identical to the ones in BFBC, which makes me realize why would i repay $60 for basically the same game?
OT: Activision is going down with its "Hero" franchise. However, CoD is always an amazing expierience

really?
they used the same graphics , gameplay engine and same textures and same everything, heck even the single player was shorter and makes no sense.
