IF, DQX were cancelled i couldn't see why on earth it would be released on the PS3 instead. Double or triple your cost, half your Japanese userbase, it just doesn't make sense. I would imagine the game is already a reasonable way into development and they are going to cancel it because a somewhat poorly reviewed FF spin-off didn't light up the sales charts on its first week. I'm sure S-E has more faith in their DQ franchise than that.

I think it'll be PSN/WiiWare/XBL multiplat.  Highest sales will be on PSN.

If DQX should fail... just look at DQIX and be the judge, did that game fail? All things being considered? I'm not sure about Japan but I don't believe people buy into franchises, they buy the promise sure but not franchises.

Franchise may be a term used assume that a game will sell based on sales of a game in the past and doesn't seem to attempt to quantify any growth in interest.

I think it's cute that after all the failed screaming that DQ9 was going to get ported straight to the PSP, there seems to be a few people holding out that DQX is going to do exactly the same thing that DQ9 didn't.

I don't see any reason why it won't. If SE does decide to move it, the DS would probably be the platform of choice, considering what IX did/doing.

FFCC will do fine. DQX will do fine. I am a PSWii60 owner, but I like the Wii best. That being said, I see no reason not to make DQX multiplat, unless it is going to be Motion-heavy.

A. Goes to the highest user base.
B. Never get's ported.

SE does 2 things
A. Takes forever doing things
B. Remakes old games. To finance their long development times.
