Forums - Nintendo - First NSMB.Wii commercials aired, must see!

These TV spots are how you can tell that Nintendo dropped the ball not adding and marketing online multiplayer for the game. Instead of having four people playing the game locally decked in Mushroom Kingdom themed rooms, they could have had four individual gamers sitting alone in four different rooms entering servers and starting a connection with friends. Maybe add in the process of typing in Friend Codes to really sell the product. Then show them all playing individually in their own rooms against one another.

Really it's how they should market all of their games. Online multiplayer is an industry standard and Nintendo needs to get that across, not only in their games, but in the marketing of their games.

They're only starting the commercials less than a week before the game's release?

Geez; and people wonder why Nintendo fails at marketing. They should have been starting to air these a month ago at least.

lol, you had me going there for a second.

OT: I just really dislike the word "bellies" It's sure to put off the 10-14 yo demographic who think they're too cool to use such words.

"Now, a fun game should always be easy to understand - you should be able to take one look at it and know what you have to do straight away. It should be so well constructed that you can tell at a glance what your goal is and, even if you don’t succeed, you’ll blame yourself rather than the game. Moreover, the people standing around watching the game have also got to be able to enjoy it." - Shiggy

I think he needed to make it more obvious, because honestly up until the friends code part, I thought he was actually serious. Also I can never tell with Onyxmeth. I always take him seriously.

Never been fond of the Nintendo Ikea commercials.

I sure hope they don't do this for Galaxy 2 and Metroid next year.
However for Galaxy 2 would love to see a ad similar to the 90's SMB3 ad as a homage and to get new and old fans cheering for the ads.

Thanks for the advice. In the future, I'll leave out the obvious lines like the one about Friend Codes and go for the 100% is he serious or not approach.

You'll have to work harder then. I understood what you meant by your second sentence. But keep at it, I'll be cheering for you.

That's different. There's always a subsect of the community that just knows me too well. I'm not looking to fool you folks. I'm looking to fool the people that can see my previous post in this thread and actually think I may be serious.
