Netyaroze said: They patented the Nunchuk but there are many ways to design a similar device without hurting the patent rights of Nintendo. The solution could be two PS Motes one with stick. Or a completly different Input device.
Copying things is nothing new everyone Copys stuff from everyone. Nintendo is the Inventor of a lof of stuff. Which are used everywhere now. Thats just how buisness goes. Nintendo had a good Idea and now the Competition tries to interprete it differently. Or do you think that Sony or MS Should say oh no we didnt invent Motion Controls Rumble Packs and 3d graphic Chips lets take it out of our consoles. Nintendo uses Integrated Circuits and the joypad wasnt Invented by Nintendo. The same goes for Cartridges or CDs or DVDs or for Dual Analogue Sticks. Or 4 player ports in a console. Or a Online platform. There are alot of things but as I remeber the Rumble feature had another Company patented. Not Nintendo wasnt that the reason why The PS3 controlled had no Force Feedback ? The Principe the Wii Mote works is not Nintendo based its an aold technique etc.
stealing Ideas is pretty normal look at the Iphone Iod Design nowadays every phone looks like an Iphone.
The thing is you are not allowed to make exact copies or use special principles which are patented but you can desing things which fullfill the same purpose but don violate the rights of another Company

Sony got in trouble because of how they used the dual motors, not because they had rumble in particular. Sony could have had rumble in the PS3 from the start, but they would have had to change how they were doing rumble and they didn't want to. Nintendo probably patented the rumble pack, and sony upped it by making it internal and using two motors.
