By the sound of it, it would be a disaster for Capcom to just release Resi 5 AE on the PS3. That control scheme of DS + Sony mote sounds extremely uncomfortable! (Unless of course Sony also rips off Nunchuck from Nintendo). lol.

LoL, judging by Sony's history I'd almost bet on this; cough; rumble; cough.

You mean like Nintendo stole the analog stick idea from Sony? Sorry, couldn't resist...

You got it backwords. Sony only had a D-pad originally.

Yes, that's the controller the PS came with originally but the dual analog controller was showcased in spring (april) 1995, before the N64 released (in fact, before the name of the next Nintendo was even fully settled). The N64 launched in the summer of 96, 14-15 months after the showcasing of the first dual analog gamepad from Sony.

But who cares, I was only trying to make a funny (some people seem to be upset by the thought that Ninty haven't invented and perfected everything though, so I'll stop before someone cries... ).

Cry? lol The only one who shoul be crying are deluded fanboys like yourself. Your ignorane doesent let you see to far.

The "dual analog controller" you are talking albout isnt a controller at all. Sony showed a JOYSTICK in april 1995, which existed since um early 80s for consoles and computers and since 70s for arcades including few for NES. Sony just riped Nintendo as usual. Nice job burning yourself fanboy.

Relax. You could get a heart attack you know.

Edit;

"The completed N64 was fully unveiled in a playable form to the public on November 24, 1995, at the 7th Annual Shoshinkai Software Exhibition in Japan. Nintendo's next-generation console was introduced as the "Nintendo 64", contrary to speculation that it would be called "Ultra Famicom".[9] Photos of the event were disseminated on the web by Game Zero magazine two days later.[10] Official coverage by Nintendo followed later via the Nintendo Power website and print magazine."

The nunchuk, yes. A nunchuk-like device, no. Nyko was able to release their unauthorized copy, but they had to make it look and feel different from Nintendo's nunchuk. Sony can (and almost certainly will...) do the same.

Nintendo Sued Nyko Over that Nunchuk

I've been cloned

Correct, and Nintendo won the lawsuit. That's why the nunchuk that Nyko eventually released looks like this, when it was originally supposed to look like this. I believe there are  a few units of the original model in the wild (which I've always wanted to get my hands on), but the majority are going to be the...less attractive version.

Nintendo and Nyko settled the lawsuit under the agreement that Nyko will be allowed to sell a redesigned version of the remote. This could mean that Nintendo let Nyko apply for a license to sell a Nunchuk clone. This may not happen for Sony.

You think Nintendo would let Sony apply for that license?  Well, they can always apply, but I doubt Nintendo would accept that.

I still think, if the Gamecube could've done Metroid Prime's impressive title screen, the Wii could do RE5's, except with maybe a few negligible omissions.

Use a few dev tricks.

Tsk. what?

The N64 controller was  PRESENTED in the fall  of 1995 . The Dual shock controlled was ANNOUNCED  IN A PRESS RELEASE in late 1995 but wasn't PRESENTED formally until 1996!

"Initially announced in a press release in late 1995 [1], The Dual Analog Controller was first displayed under glass at the PlayStation Expo 96-97 which was held from November 1 to November 4, 1996. It was released in Japan in April 1997"

I hate when gamers twist history to their pleasure.  Don't do that. Love sony as much as you like it but keep your feet in the ground ok?

Your lies won't convince anyone but you.

Well the MT Framework is being ported to the Wii and they are releasing a version for the PS3 designed for the wand.

So yeah I do think is pretty possible.

It took more than a couple months for Nintendo to create the Nintendo 64, its controller, and Mario 64. Everybody was working on analog joysticks at the same time. We might never know who started their development first, and it doesn't really matter. What we know for sure is that Sony wasted theirs on the PC, and Nintendo's changed gaming and 3-D camera controls.

But Nintendo DID patent their perfect D-Pad, which is why every competitor's D-Pad has sucked in comparison.

@everybody, what's with all the title screen jokes? I must've missed something...

i would love a wii version, i hope they make the controls fantastic like RE4

Does anyone even care about RE5 at this point though?

BAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHHA, I can't believe a fucking producer said that!

That's awesome!

I thought it was some internet Wii-bashing zing or something.  I did not expect a producer to be saying something that stupid.

Thanks for the link!

Bobbuffalo; my point is this; the dual analog controller was underway and in the works before Nintendo even unveiled the N64 (and named it that) and was based on the technology in their previous analog joystick controller for flight sims and not the N64 gamepad like many like to believe.

The N64 controller and the first dual analog controller were thought out and made at the same time. Two companies with the same idea, imagine that... You say I twist things, well I don't, I just disagree that the first dual analog controller was based on the N64 gamepad and was rather a mash-up of the dual analog joystick and the old PS gamepad.
I'm not saying Sony has never copied anything (everyone does, just look at today's videogames and movies, not many original products these days) but they did not copy this particular thing.

Using Wii motion controls to control Shiva's bow & arrow would be awesome.
