Forums - Nintendo - What other games can Nintendo produce to sell over 10 million for Wii?

I doubt it will ever ship that many copies, unless a Player's Choice lineup is created.

This pretty much.

Melee was the GameCube's best selling game and I expect Brawl to be Wii's top seller as well. Except for like the Wii series games.

if zelda wii is successfully made into a bridge title like mk wii, nsmb wii, ect, it could probably pull off 10 million.

other then that, i can't think of anything.

about a main series pokemon wii game, that could canabolize the sales of the handheld games, and that's probably a risk nintendo isn't willing to take.

come try out the computer game i've been working on for my high school senior project, titled sling ball. http://vgchartz.com/forum/thread.php?id=76669&page=1

you can view a few screenshots from the game in my photo album here; http://www.vgchartz.com/photos/album.php?album=2312

Mario Galaxy 2, Mario Galaxy 3, Mario Galaxy 4...lol I'm just kidding honest.

Seriously though anything with Mario in the title, Zelda Wii, Wii Sports 3, Super Smash Bros sequel, Wii Fit 3

Starfox, if designed off the SNES and N64 game and is focused on it's core gameplay.

StarFox has never reached anywhere near 10-million copies. I would say Donkey Kong but JungleBeat with New controls included has just barely gone over the million mark. Sure the country series sold well but could a new Donkey Kong actually reach over 10-million copies? doubtful. Actually I don't think their is a single franchise Nintendo has yet to develope on Wii that has the power to sell 10-million copies except of course the obvious Pokemon.

I think Nintendo's Vitality Sensor game could make 10-million copies and if Nintendo created more SuperSmashBros like franchises. Like Nintendo FootBall with Link , Samus and Donkey Kong all playable alongside Mario and the bros.

Also other pointed out Nintendogs, its a possibility. But Nintendo has already used up most of its ten plus million sellers!

Neither did Mario Kart. Zelda hasn't either, yet we all claim the Wii version will.

Well so far we got:

Wii Sports
Wii Play
Wii Fit
Mario Kart Wii

More than likely Wii Sports Resort, Wii Fit Plus, and New Super Mario Bros Wii will hit it. Brawl has an outside chance of doing it as well.

So what else coudl do it? Well Super Mario Galaxy 2 has a very solid chance. Galaxy 1 is one of the most critically acclaimed game ever and a sequel would definitely benefit from that. Even more so, if Nintendo really put big money into advertising they could get larger first week sales all around. Same could be done with Zelda Wii which also has a solid chance. Now Zelda has never been something to really hit the mainstream all that much (although Ocarina of Time and Twilight Princess (kinda) achieved this. But with a big push they could polarize a lot of buyers to pick it up.

I also think a Nintendogs game would do quite well... having a very well thought out dog simulator could push a lot of copies. Also a full fledged 3D pokemon game would be quite successful as it builds off the brand.

But not really much else that I can see that would push to 10 million in sales from Nintendo although that's quite a bit haha. Nintendo can have a lot of big and successful games with that large userbase it is just they really need to have large focus on advertising and hype.

I find it funny we are debating which franchise could Nintendo use to make another 10+ million game. Yet the competitions platforms don't have a single 10+ million game. Unless you combined sales of a game combining the sales of both the 360 and PS3 versions. Only Nintendo can push so many titles to the 10-million mark but honestly other then Mario Kart the other Wii franchise based titles are in their own zone. Can more then MarioKart make the 10+ million mark without marketing it towards the casual gaming audience?
