Forums - PC - PC gamer hatred of MW2 is laughably AWFUL!

Vac actually is better... but it works with dedicated servers.

The problem is... while Vac is better...all being better means is it's going to take a couple days more for people to do what they're going to do... and everyone is still going to do it...

and now you can't boot cheaters when you find them... and instead have full games ruined by things like Aim bots. Rather then it being annoying for a couple minutes then gone.

Dunno, i've only read about the 360 version. Dont think you can hack it for PS3 due to the PS3 itself? Maybe he's been doing Red Bull and gaming 24 hours a day and is super highskilled? :D

I don't know if you can or the extent of hacking the PS3. However in COD4, players were taking advantage of some exploits. I remember it from a thread earlier this year I believe and one of the exploits was no clipping, lol.

Clipping in COD4 was not as bad as it was in COD2, atleast not for PC where you can aim faster. You could still get a kill on a guy trying to clip in COD4. In COD2 however, one could script a clip so that he could pop up, shoot, and duck down without being seen at all :D

Jesus, who gives a fuck about Metacritic scores? Aside from the management at games publishers, of course.

Well, seeing that this thread was created and seeing the usual banter about a game's metacritic score being A, AA, or AAA and such.

:P

I have seen arguing about MW2's graphics being 10 or not being 10 (to say high 8s) to the game justifiably being considered on par with Big Rigs in this thread (and the post I put up).  In all this, all I see is a lot of fanboy anger that is worth less than a patch on Big Rigs to make it tolerable.

So then from the looks of it, you're still taking this crap way too seriously. I've already made my post on how I disagree with the changes made to the PC version and did it reasonably. I think you should take a step back since it feels like you're taking these scores as truth. You even said yourself that it's the crazy fanboys, so why should you have to look into it anymore past that?

Why?  Because I hold up Big Rigs as a benchmark of AWFUL, and I don't like anything that doesn't approach its level of awful threatening it.  That is why.   One has to appreciate the level of awfulness in Big Rigs to know why I am offended.  It starts with the website of the publisher of the game, and them writing stuff about how cheap coders+brilliant management=winning combination.

Blarg! Gamefaqs users gave Big Rigs a rating of 8.8 out of 10:

The way things are going Big Rigs will stand a chance of having a higher rating then metacritic review average score!

What I don't understand is why the hardcore uberwhiner minority get to bend the developers to their ear whilst the more casual players who just want a simplified experience don't get heard?

Im willing to bet that the number whom actually know/care what a dedicated server is number at 1 in 20 or there abouts. Whilst im also willing to bet that the number of people who would appreciate simplified matchmaking getting them into the game faster/easier would be about 1 in 3 or more.

Most people don't have clans and or more than 8 friends who will want to play the game with them at the same time, 95%+ territory here.

I don't particularly care about what the small minority of people who would play this game want. They have a metric ton of games they can play which cater to their needs, however there aren't nearly as many people who play casually who can get a game like this which caters to their needs in a simplified fashion.

When it comes to multiplayer im about as casual as you can get. I just want to be paired with people who are around my (low) skill level in these games. I can't get that from a server list and therefore I can get the experience I want from MW2 but not from MW1 (which is still around I might add for those who want those features to play).

I don't know why in particular they can't have both dedicated servers and P2P and there probably is good reason or are people really that asinine about what IW expected from the community in terms of backlash? Since they knew it was coming then they must have some fairly good justification for doing what they're doing even if they don't tell you the full reason.

Yeah... I'm sure casual players know the difference between being allowed to play with 64 players vs being capped at 18.

And while you might not think of it right off the bat... the latency will effect all casual players, as will the fact that when your host quits, it takes several seconds to find a new one (if you aren't booted back to a lobby).

Is that fun for you?  Being in the middle of a game, and having the game pause for 5-15 seconds while a new host is found?

How about the fact that if there's a cheater, there's nothing you (or anyone else) can do about it, aside from quit the server?

This isn't super elite hardcore gaming stuff... this is pretty simple stuff that's getting screwed up.

Aye what max power said! I just want my less lag environment, the ability to change some simple non-game affecting options...such as the ability to take off my damn cross hair without hardcore mode on (which an online only mode for those of you who don't know) GRRR!!! :P

What message do you send anyone if you rate MW2 worse than Big Rigs?  Only message I see here is that you are a poor judge of quality.  You send messages by not buying, and then writing the creators/publishers of the game telling them why.  You are also up for organizing a boycott if you like.  But showing that you don't have a clue as to how to rate a game, only sends a message that you are a poor evaluator of quality.

As someone who is admirers how Big Rigs failed so miserably, I am offended you drag MW2 down to its level.

The message is not that "this game worths 7.5".

The message is: "Fuck you, Activision, and we hope that all the African animals will rape your decision makers in the ass, one by one, until you beg for a mercy death."

Please remind me why someone reading that would consider a person to listen to, and not someone who needs to be in therapy for psychopathic thoughts.

Activision is the problem here.  Like many dev teams of late, not enough time was invested in making the "ports" = the original.  This has nothing to do with consoles vs consoles vs pc, but with the damn publisher.  Activision says, "bring the damn game out at this date", and IW has to make sure that is done.  So the original gets built, tested, and ported.  This leaves very little time to "perfect" the ports.

Blame Activision, Blame Activision.  Its not a real "entertainment" publisher anyway!
