Im hoping FF VersusXIII to be the next FFVII instead of FFXIII ^___^
no, 13 won't make you want to gouge your eyes out.
(yes, I'm a bitter Nintendo fanboy who is upset that 7 went to the PlayStation after being promised on the N64)

I sure hope it's not.
Weren't Pokemon Red & Blue the best jrpg at that time? :P

Face the future.. Gamecenter ID: nikkom_nl (oh no he didn't!!)
For me:
-- No it won't as FF10 is my 2nd favorite FF (with FF7 being 5th or something), as this is made by the legendary FF10 team, I want it to be better than FF10, not like FF7.....PLEASE don't curse the game!!!!!!!
In General View (which is probably what you meant lol):
-- NO
Lightning never strikes twice:
No Zelda will ever be seen as better than OOT
No 3D Mario will ever be seen as good as SM64
In Sales:
I am hoping for 9 - 10 million so it may
@atma
Expect FF13 to outsell DQ10....2:1 worldwide
that aint happening
FF13 has the crown till FF15 which may take it
There is absolutely no way FF13 is going to reach FFX levels in sales, let alone FF7 levels. Jrpg interest is not what it used to be. And while many will make an exception for FF, the interest is still going to be lower than in previous generations. Giving it some thought, yeah it'll outsell FF12 (since FF13 has the novelty of being the first FF of the gen) but not FF7 and FFX.
I'll probably buy FF13 (when it hits the bargain bin). I'm not hyped for this, there's a great chance I might not like it but I'll give it a chance anyway I guess. I've played jrpgs since before the PS1 era (though I only casually played a few of them back then. I only started seriously playing them with the PS1) but these days I find that they mostly (not all) bore me. Battles in jrpgs in general need to be more interesting. Give us an incentive to want to continue killing baddies. Don't make battles seem like work/a chore. And making battles real-time (ie. Tales of Vesperia) is no guarantee of that. This isn't a criticism of the turn-based system. The turn-based system has potential to be fun. You just have to do it right. Just giving us level ups and skill points is not enough to motivate us. Because lots of games from other genres (ie. hack-n-slash and beat-em-ups like Castle Crashers) these days offer that too while offering more fun fights.
No, the genre JRPG is in rapid decline except in JAPAN.
I predict 5.5 million sales in total with 4.5 million on ps3 (2.5 million JP 0.8 million NA 1.2 million others, 1 million on Xbox 360 (0.6 million NA 0.4 million others)

uhhh not on the handhelds my friend in fact a lot of them sell pretty well there(ex. Crisis core, KH 358/2, Pokemon etc). Plus regardless of what u amy think FFXIII is still pretty big worldwide and is going to sell at least a million in NA on both platforms
