With all of the fervor of the quality of MW2's single player campaign, it seems that more and more developers are throwing in single player campaigns as an after thought. The CoD4 Single campaign want's incredibly long either but it was well fleshed out, well paced, and well written. MW2 is starting to remind me of Resistance 2. A great deal of work was put into the multiplayer modes but the single player campaign seemed to suffer for it. I'll reserved final judgement for when I get my hands on MW2 but it seems that more and more FPS titles have throwaway single player campaigns.

The singleplayer in MW2 has suffered because of MP unfortunately. It's still a good SP though.

yea they have suffered thats why ive stopped playing them and now play good TPS games like Uncharted 2

I'd say you have a point here, OP. Same goes for RPG's, you just don't see many RPG's of Dragon Age's caliber nowadays since all the developers seem to focusing on MMO's in an attempt to emulate the success of WoW (and they all fail yet they keep trying).
This is all a bad thing for me, I want good single player games first and foremost. I like playing TF 2 online every now and then but beating the AI and going through and epic campaign with boss fights, good stories, cool characters and great locations is where its at for me!

Well I haven't finished MW2's campaign but so far its just as good as MW1 to me. The multiplayer aspect is where its at for most of us. And I am happy that the Multiplayer part of the game has got so much love put into it. There are a lot of maps and they are gigantic. Just like the last one I will devote more time in the MP than the campaign so I am a very happy person.

*sigh i miss Resistance 1 story mode coop style....bring this back in Resistance 3 and screw online.

most games focus on MP these days i cant wait till rpgs(not those mmos shit) mainly jprgs start to shine again the stupid fad of fps is gettin old and ridculous how much times will u run up and down shootin people its gettin old damn and the stories r just startin to totally suck ass

because gamers go straight to the multiplayer, most of my friends have yet to touch the campaign of MWF2, multiplayer is all they play, I find it to be meaningless and balant stupidity to do that. Might as well not even get MWF2 since the multiplayer is quite similar to COD4. Its the reason I am not getting it, if a game doesn't have a great single player forget it.

I agree with you. Resistance 2's multiplayer was badass but the campaign suffered for it. It's a new trend evolving and with MW2 getting away with it, we might see a lot more developers doing this unfortunately.
