Forums - Sony - Microsoft has sealed Sony's fate in november....

I think that MS still as legs, its older, DON'T FORGET THAT, it doesn't have a background story like SONY (only one XBOX), but the FACT is that it's still winning the HD market and it's kicking a lot!

And don't forget 2010:

-Splinter Cell Conviction
-HALO Reach
-Alan Wake
-Gears of War 3
-NATAL

It's going to be a BIG year for the 360..... You'll see!

i really dont care how they do this month b/c in the long run it wont last. For a majority of next year a lot of the major titles will be on PS3 and multiplats are already starting to sell better on PS3. Apart from Mass effect 2, i dont see that many titles coming next year for the 360 in fact it looks pretty dismal to say the least

Lets see next year Fable 3, Halo Reach, Crackdown 2, Mechwarrior, Mass Effect 2, Alan Wake and more games will be coming out next  year. Microsofts most impressive AAA fleet will be unveiled next year. I hope they don't announce any secret games at E3 because Microsoft will definitely have the best 2010. Sony's major games next year are FFXIII Versus and GT, while Microsoft has Halo Reach, Mass Effect 2 and Fablee 3 as three power hitters.

Looking at preorders for MAG, I would argue Sony has 4 Big games already announced for next year. Those being: GT5, FFXIII Versus, MAG, and GoW III. And from what I heard from friends Fable 2 sucked, so why would that be big? And possibly the biggest secret of all Rockstar's Agent is slated for next year.

1. MAG has no where near as many preorers as a "big" game.

2. Fable 2 was a great game that sold to over 3 million people.  Some people didn't like it, but most did.

3. Agent is not slated for next year.  It has never even been hinted at having a release date yet.  Wait and see before making things up.

Well, according to the commercials, November 13th.  According to the article on VGCHARTZ and the store system where I looked into it, November 15th.  Either way it lasts at least a week.

Pos Game  Platform  Preorders Weekly Change Weeks to Release
8 MAG: Massive Action Game PS3          78,342       7,474 12
10 Mass Effect 2                           X360          52,781              5,555 12

So, Mass Effect 2 is a big game but based on pre-orders MAG isn't?

Unless of course ME2 isn't a big game for 2010. Plus, MAG is climbing at a faster rate. Granted it could be due to the beta access, but if the beta was that bad people wouldn't still be reserving at 7k per week.

Edit - Fail on my part. S.T.A.G.E. listed ME2 as a big hitter for 2010 on the 360, not you. My bad.

Multiple Shipments throughout the week.

@Euphoria
Wow, I didn't realize ME2 preorders were that low!  I expected them to at least eventually go higher than the Assassin's Creed 2 and Left 4 Dead 2 preorders.  Is 12 weeks away just too far away to show what they will be like in say, 8 weeks?

^yeah, but they never have an unlimited quantity, they specify how many they are going to make deals of before they start this.
And it's not while 360 console supplies last, it's how long the gift card quantity lasts. Sure a store should have thousands of gift cards lying around, but at any point they can just say, "we don't have any more 360 gift cards available", yet they would still be able to sell those non-giftcard-360s to people who have already concluded to buy one.

Only in America, dunno if it'll be enough for WW but even so, PS3 will likely climb back on top.

All Microsoft needs is a sales boost in America. Sony as well. WW doesn't really matter until next year when GT comes out.

no WW does matter, a lot, especially when FF13 is coming this december

don't blind fold yourself

It's while 360 supplies last.  Their giftcards are pretty much unlimited.  It takes any card, not some special one for the 360 deal.  They can take any Walmart giftcard and apply the $100 deal to, even to existing gift cards people already own.  I was asked when I purchased my 360 if I wanted the gift card balance added to an existing one.

And as far as the "while supplies last" I was told by the Walmart manager it was while they kept getting 360 shipments.
