So you guys are ok with that Japanese game where you RAPE women too? There really isn't a difference between the two. This kinda thing personally makes me kinda sick, but not becoz of it's level of "violence". Games like Madworld and God Of War are totally different beasts. To me, this is about desensitization to reality. Especially when games are, for the vast majority, directed at the under-age demographics (whether rated M or not). When you put this into a GAME where you actually TAKE CONTROL, you're lowering the shock factor of the reality of the situation. People equate games to being FUN, and when it's delivered in this type of way, it's absolutely NOT a good thing. For the record, I'm also against GTA style games as well for this same reason. It's not that anybody who plays it will become a raging lunatic, but for people predisposed to this kind of mentality, it's catering to it. A young developing mind will be affected psychologically far beyond that of an adult from being introduced to this sort of thing at younger and younger ages. If you don't see that the youth of America has changed DRASTICALLY in the last 20 years, you aren't looking very hard. But like I said, it's not the violence per se. There's a world of difference between shooting a civilian in the face and a cartoon cat hitting someone with a frying pan.

Anyone who actually has FUN playing this type of role should look very closely at yourself and go get some help. We don't need another Columbine or Fort Hood.

...and people still ask me why I think the SP in MW is good, lol. This is bleeding edge gaming here, and its breaking new territory. IW is maturing the entire medium at a very mainstream level.

That said, this is very offensive to many people, and not everyone should play it...but not everyone should watch every movie or listen to every song either. Point is, this matures videogaming to a point where it can be taken seriously as a reality driven medium, as well as fantasy, and it's not a niche game either.

I don't see a big deal with the level.

Seriously, your saying its the same thing for someone to gun down your unarmed Mother and Sister in the Mall than you brother who voluteered to put himself in harms way for the greater good? Death is Death, but these 2 are not the same. I dont really have any issues with this level. If they were Soldiers I would, because Soldiers don't do those types of things (At least Allied forces don't, can't speak for other countries) These are terrorist, and they do things even worse than this. I will be picking this up tonight at midnight, and as long as the game is not making "light" of this situation I am okay with.

And people thought the reaction to supposed racism in Resident Evil 5 was bad...

Soldiers from all countries can do unspeakable things, the Abu Ghraib torture stories would also add to this. Russians, Koreans and people from the Middle East or Arab countries are not they only humans with vile hearts in stark contrast to what games would have us believe.
