That's not the question clearly its not if you bother reading the thread title.  This is not a thread about quality. 

And yahh it does matter, they are in direct competition.  Its not just two car games its two sims going after the hearts and money of exactly the same demographic. 

And after the shit talk turn ten has said about GT, it really does kinda make it less of a game.  Or makes them fools and failures which ever.

The sales is of importance, because we here have a case where Turn 10 them selves openly declared war on the GT franchise and a community manager who's job is to actively cater to the more dedicated console brand followers.

This being the best example we have of everything but admitted viral marketing through brand followers, it's interesting to see the effect when put up against an already established franchise.

It also raises the question, how many of these Forza 3 sales will be from people who(used to) buy GT compared to people who also bought Halo ODST?

Forza 3 will outsell GT5P, of course it does not help that GT5P sales have picked up again and GT5 is still not in the shops.

As many have pointed out the quality of the game does not necessarily reflect in direct sales. This game will exceed 4 million LTS as it is almost guranteed to be major bundle option in the future. It is after all exclusive and a damn good example of what the 360 can do.

Of course the 360 is in some ways is like the PS3, The PS3 is not the console of choice for FPS games that is the 360 and the 360 is not the console of choice for racing sims that is the Playstation. Both genres are being chipped at though and that distinction is certainly becoming more blurred.

Feel free to make a thread on Forza vs. GT in quality in Gaming Discussion. Actually, don't, because we've had enough of those. They never go anywhere, and they die when people get sick of arguing...for a week, then they come back.

What are GT5:P sales? We have the estimate here, but in theory it's low because it doesn't include PSN.

OT - it could, but likely not by much. GT5 sales are likely to be way ahead of Forza 3 though, so for those who sales matter to in arguments its very probably going to be the case that GT5 is going to be proclaimed the clear winner.

Also, a lot depends on the holidays. I could see Forza 3 actually getting squeezed with MW2, etc. so it might end up behind Gt5:P. Boy, if that happens the Turn 10 guys are going to be spitting.

Either way GT5/Forza 3 flame fests and arguments are sure to continue.

the problem is that THERE IS A FM3 bundle but ... it is not everywhere and, for example, it is not in France

while the MW2 bundle is EVERYWHERE

MS doesn't seem to understand FM3 was their biggest weapon to get back europe OR there are still focusing too much on the FPS/online crowd that is mainly concentrated on ... NA !

Hmm...What if we ignore GT5P Japan sales?I think that would be fair.

once again, the GT brand is too big now.....its hard for a platform to hae a racer exclusive that can top GT's popularity (Mario Kart did, but we are talking about realistic racers here)
