I didn't know that opinions could be "broken"

You have yours and they have theirs.

Don't remind me. I would love that only 3 games per year make the 90's just barely, also have 3 games per this gen to make 93-95. Since the review system is a joke in most places...

That is just sad, so you are openly admiting that you'd prefer the quality of this gen games decreased just because your delusional opinion?

Have any of you ever wondered, that maybe the overall average quality of most titles have increased over the years?! Or do you expect that games will never evolve? Developers were working with their hands tied just a few years back, now the technology allows them to realize their concepts and ideas > the games are getting better.

So instead of whining, you should be glad that we have great titles, better than in previous generations. If you can't enjoy these as much as the old ones, than there is something wrong with you, maybe you are starting to outgrow video games.

Also it's your opinion of an amateur against oppinions of professional industry critics. So IMO this is sad.

MY HYPE LIST: 1) Gran Turismo 5; 2) Civilization V; 3) Starcraft II; 4) The Last Guardian; 5) Metal Gear Solid: Rising

No review under 90?!

That's something too.

Actually Honestgamers gave it 8/10. It's just their score haven't been published on metacritic.

What a terrible post.  You should be ashamed of yourself.  Let me count the ways...

First, no one ever said they wanted quality lowered.  You're making an insane straw-man argument.  People are saying that most reviewers don't put things into proper perspective.

You're already starting off with an amazing logical fallacy, what other nonsense can you provide?

How about the second "paragraph?"  The overall quality of games have gone up over the years?  A highly subjective claim.  People with more time than me could even shoot you down for this with ease.  But let's just take mass-opinion, to make things easier.  Critical acclaim says that GTA4 is one of the best games ever, people in general disagree.  The same is said for Mario Galaxy.  While both have ther merits, they both have predecessors that were received better by the people who paid for the experience.  Reviewers are paid to HAVE the experience, and their opinions often differ from people who live in the real world.

Third, wow.  Better?  A lot of people love TP, no doubt, but the consensus is that OoT was far better.  A lot of people love GTA4, no doubt, but the consensus is that SA is better and there's a vocal minority (and not a small one) that would take VC and/or GTA3 over it any day of the week.  Sales of both series say that the modern versions aren't the best, and no better way to judge public reaction than on how they "vote" with their dollars. Also critically acclaimed to a very high degree this generation that doesn't follow through is Mario.  Galaxy is said to be great, the best in its series even, and yet it doesn't even compare in the slightest to the high-selling Mario games in terms of sales.

The titles we have are good, but they don't always beat the older games.  Also, your second claim in this paragraph is totally asinine and shows your very young age relative to the average gamer.  A lot of people still love gaming a great deal, but they aren't impressed by the bells and whistles.  I almost/probably spend more time playing free flash games now because they give me a more enjoyable experience.  They do a lot more to mimic older games, and that's great.  The reason why it's great is because older games often have a totally different play style than new ones.  2D gaming is almost completely dead, yet a lot of games simply do not translate into 3D because it removes their core values.  A 2D "schmup" is almost impossibly to convey in 3D, a 3D beat 'em up like Dynasty Warriors plays nothing like a 2D beat 'em up like Double Dragon.  The fact that the very way in which you character responds is changed affects the whole experience from top to bottom.

Really, the only one that's pathetic here is you.  You're obviously young enough that you're willing to be fed whatever **** is put on a plate for you, but people old enough to be discerning consumers will simply pick up what they like.  My favorite Mario happens to be 3D, my favorite Zelda happens to be 2D, and a lot of things I love are split between the two.  I choose what I like because the experience is genuinely good and unique to me, and your tastes clearly aren't that evolved yet.  You are still willing to think every slightly new experience you have is the greatest thing ever because you've barely had any at all, and when you get past the age of 15 your opinion on things will change.  Good luck with that transition.

You do not have the right to never be offended.

Congratulations to Naughty Dog.

Though Uncharted 2 heavily borrows from the best in the industry and doesn't do much (if at all) original itself, it certainly doesn't feel that way when you play this game (which I can't say the same for Uncharted 1).

What naughty dog has done was make a game that is entirely their own. A truly great game either innovates or does a very good job at copying others and making it look like it doesn't. Uncharted 2 falls into the second category, but that isn't a bad thing or a negative comment against it.

I think it was Gametrailers that said that it was a salute to the last 10 years of gaming, and I couldn't agree more. This game isn't going to push the industry forward, but it was a nice chance to see how far we've come. There are some scenes in this game that are truly cinematic and it would not have been out of place in a hollywood movie masterpiece.

Games have been trying to push to be a viable art form/medium for all these years (even in the 2D sprite era) and I think that this game is a good signpost of how far we've come, there are some truly jaw dropping moments in this game and graphics don't have much to do with that. This is one of those games that makes me appreciate how difficult it must have been to convey such grand scale with 2D Sprites, if this game can do it this well and this is one of the few times I recall having seen it of this standard in 3D.

I haven't even begun to mention the game itself yet and I've already gone longer than the average post. The game isn't perfect, far from it. There are some down right crappy moments (platforming for one). And this game won't go down as one of my all time favourites. But like I said before, this game is amazing for the fact that it is a sign of how far we've come. This game, like Ocarina of Time, like Super Mario Galaxy, Like Final Fantasy "insert you favourite number here", like Grand Theft Auto "Insert favourite one", Like Half-Life, Like Super Mario 64, isn't perfect, None of these games are. But what they all have in common is that they've got this undeniable charm about them, something special that makes you forget that your playing a video game. I call it (and I have quite a few times in recent posts) having a "soul". I'm not sure what it is about Uncharted 2, but my guess is the story of Nathan Drake and how he went from being a shallow bounty hunter in Uncharted 1 to being a character with a moral conscience in the second game. It's really compelling stuff.

and for that, I honestly believe that it deserves all the review scores it's gotten up till now, even though on a purely objective scale (factoring in the shotty platforming and certain design choices) it probably wouldn't/shouldn't have gotten so high.

Reviews are supposed to be an objective critique of a product sans bias. We don't have that.
