If all consoles next gen were motion control next gen, yes, my main platform would be PC.
I want to sit/lay and relax when I play games, not move around.

Yeah I played Bioshock, Gears of War and Crysis on my PC with a 360 controller. That was fun ^^ |
But no achievements... Surely Bioshock and Crysis are better played with keyboard and mouse? (or cannot you not do that in front of the TV easily)
To answer a bit. Obviously if consoles go motion standard then you would no longer be able to use 360 gamepads on your PC to play console ports. Why would they add the feature to those games if they aren't adding the feature to their console counterparts?
So thus far, the main responses I've gotten are:
1. You can't sit on your couch/chair while using motion controllers.
2. You can't rest at all while using motion control, including your arms and body.
3. It's not possible to have IR controls without also having waggle motions.
Is that all, because those are all really good reasons to hate motion controls. Those are as good of reasons to be against motion controllers as people that are against the HD consoles because all of the games are brown and grey.
My primary gaming system will be PC, but I'll still end up buying a Playstation 4 even if motion control is standard.

Well yeah Crysis was a bit weird at first, but still kind of funny. Lack of achievements sucks though >:(
Not to insult them at all, but the people who are claiming "if Sony/MS go motion next gen, i'll go to PC/quit gaming" aren't thinking clearly. They are stuck with a few ideas about motion controls which are either
A: Wrong-headed in regards to the motion controls that exist (like the people who still think motion controls would be tiring, or detract from relaxation or something),
B: Thinking of motion controls as they are, not as what they could be, like if someone, back in the NES days, had said "2 buttons and a dinky little d-pad? Fuck that! If this is what gaming is becoming, count me out!" Motion controls have even more potential for evolution and differentiation, as the vast differences between the three companies' true motion solutions show, or
C: Think motion controls are inherently tied to shovelware, looking at the Wii's lineup, and not taking into account that most of the reasons why the Wii's software lineup has the problems that it does have to do with pretty much every factor *except* motion control.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Are you doing what I think you are doing?

I never said it was going to happen. It's a question I'm asking because of the assumptions others have made regarding the topic. Inside the topic, just assume it comes true and go from there. The point is the hypothetical "why" behind the decision of some people to do this based on the scenario, not ask them why that particular scenario would happen in the first place.
It just doesn't feel practical to use motion controls for core games.
Rockstar: Announce Bully 2 already and make gamers proud!
Kojima: Come out with Project S already!
Also... i'll say this. The game i've played most this generation by far is MLB Power Pros for the Wii.
That game has no motion controls in it.
Well it does in one little side mode... but i don't play that.
Damn economic recession making it so the next one didn't come out overhere. I heard it had 5 success modes instead of 1!
Motion control standard doesn't mean that all games will use motion controls. Not even all Wii games do.
