Forums - Nintendo - Infinity Ward:"Wii can’t deliver on our goals."

@ bardicverse- Yes, I'm lazy, it's a fair point, lol. Any ideas on how you're going to release? (Steam or another direct download service?) I don't want to derail this thread so maybe you could IM me your reply, and maybe any extra info you're willing to divulge

Geez, people, get off of IWs back. At least they're being up front about it. I just said this in the other thread about this, with special concern to them saying "IW can't do it, yet Treyarch is?":

They care about making their game experiences equal across all platforms. Treyarch obviously does not. Or do you believe that CoD:WaW is the same on the Wii as it is on the HD consoles?

Where are those Wii Nazi Zombies?

Treyarch are definitely NOT "doing it". They put games on the Wii. Not equal games. IW believes that if they produce a game, the experience should be the same for all who purchase it. There should be NO discrepancies between any of the versions. With that said, obviously the Wii faulters. Unless you want them to cater to the lowest denominator, which would result in MW2 not being all it's supposed to be

There are technical requirements for these games. Would you Wii owners be mad if Crytek said "We aren't going to develop Crysis for the Wii because it wouldn't be an equal experience"?

NO! You realize that what's under the hood for the Wii doesn't match what's needed to make a Crysis Wii the same as the PC version. Same thing with Modern Warfare. Only reason the Wii even gets Call of Duty games is because Treyarch doesn't care that the experiences aren't equal. IW does, and that's why the Wii doesn't get Modern Warfare...or at least they don't get it with the vision that IW has behind it

Wow dude, you just copied and pasted most of you exact argument from the a previous thread. Yet your arguement is flawed. Crytek does not have an engine for Crysis running on the Wii. Infinity Ward does. Secondly, for the most part Call of Duty: World at War was exactly like the version on the HD consoles. Yet the Zombie game was missing. As I stated in previous thread, which was a reply to your post, there could have been a number of reasons why that game was left off, a lack of time or a lack of money or Friend Codes. But it was not due to the hardware limitations of the Wii. It would be more likely attributed to the storage media but the Wii uses Dvd 9 Just like the Xbox 360.

If Nintendo is successful at the moment, it’s because they are good, and I cannot blame them for that. What we should do is try to be just as good.----Laurent Benadiba

Shot you a PM.

Wait, a cinematic experience is like a rail shooter, right?  EA decided to put Dead Space Extraction on the Wii because they thought the system was perfect for that cinematic experience.  Even though the game flopped, the cinematics were good so I don't understand IW's point.

Not that I really care though.  There are much better FPSs on the PC than what IW is capable of making, and I'd rather not have a cinematic experience in my video games.

Actually that's a fairly reasonable answer. Wow someone on IW's back to make sure they aren't saying silly stuff it seems. What he is basically saying is that they aren't going to put a "half-assed" experience on a console... numbed down ports or whatever you want to call it. I respect that from IW because the only thing worse than not getting a game is getting a bad one haha.

I'm guessing Activision watching what they say more closely to make sure Modern Warfare Reflex doesn't get any negative hype.

Well, they are a developer so it's their choice. I don't see any problem here. If they don't think they could make a quality game on a certain platform then they should not do it. It would be stupid.

Also, I have Metroid Prime Trilogy for when I need an über awsome FPS experience (not a pure FPS but, oh well....) on the Wii :p

So, you're saying, minus the Nazi Zombies, CoD:WaW is equal across the Wii and HD consoles? Have you played both versions???? Because I have, and there are other differences besides graphics.....

im actually shocked anyone with a wii wanted to play modern warfare on it? i mean most hardcore gamers have at least one hd console (if not both now since the recent price drops) i would rather play it on either xbox/ps3/pc than wii. and i guess if ur a nintendo only person and dont care about graphics can play the ds version. i really dont understand the problem. infinity ward really only wants to make big boy games on big boy systems. thats their decision.

WaW Wii wasn't a full effort.  Treyarch could have done a much better job.

Id much rather play a game like Modern Warfare on the Wii than on the 360 or PS3.  I just have no interest in playing an FPS on dual anaolog controls -- they suck the fun out of it.  I can understand the PC argument, but there are many FPSs on the PC that are better and more original than what IW is capable of.
