Best opening is the coming into capture scene in bioshock.

I know they are not openings, but there are a couple of title screens that have really stuck in my mind.



Civilization IV - Would only be decent without the music. But now it's awesome!


The Original Halo title screen was also compelling mainly due to its music.


When I first saw it, Brood War's opening cinematic was the most awesome thing ever. Not so impressive today though.

The first videogame intro i ever saw that managed to give me goosebumps, its from 1996 and probably the first time I saw CGI characters move in a natural and fluent way:

This is probably my all time favorite opening in a videogame, this is from 2004 when CGI models and animation had improved quite abit:

I hated FES' opening, the music is horrible. At least if you leave it in the menu for a couple of seconds you can see the real, awesome Burn My Dread intro still
