Forums - Sony - Uncharted 2: Amongst National Treasure?

Was watching Nick Cages National Treasure yesterday. What do you think of the similarities I discovered?

is it me, or does Nick Cages side kick look like Nathan Drake? The side kicks character has some of the funniest dialogue in the film, kinda reminds me of a certain Mr Drake :p

Not only does Sean Beans character Ian Howe look similar, he plays a treasure hunter that double crosses his partner but yet needs him to solve the puzzles.

Does this gentleman remind you of a certain Victor Sullevan (or however you spell it :s)? Christopher Plummer plays Nick Cages grandad in National Treasure and is the one who gets Nick Cage into Treasure Hunting through their family legacy.

Around the Network

It was always very clear that films like National Treasure and Indiana Jones were the inspiration for Uncharted, but I never noticed they were this similar!

Lol Elena and Drake in the cover.

Hmm I did enjoy both the National treasure movie and Uncharted, and I always enjoy blondes... Seems like a good thing!

Naughty Dog followed the details involved with these type of games and movies. They did it very well, but still, followed a formula. I do NOT want Cage as Nathan Drake though.

It's not like National Treasure was an original idea. Neither was Indiana Jones, for that matter. They're all based on pulp adventure novels, and old serials from the 30s and 40s, same with Uncharted.

I think Uncharted would be different enough from the other treasure hunter franchises once the movies start.
