Well I hope it falls way short of that. I am not buying it, not even used. I'll save my money for games that are worth it.

I think this helps to prove why Wiki info needs to be double-checked. IF you were to align all the launches of GTA 4, yes, it would come to almost 6 million copies. However, at $60/copy, that would be $360 million. If this supposedly broke $500m, where's the other $140m? Another poster has already broken down the number for $60 copies at just over 8 million. Even if the $80 version was the average sale, it would still need to break 6 million. Like I said before, I can see it for the quarter, but not the first week. |
Special editions, and higher prices outside of America

Not really.
Outside of US the game actually sells for more than 60$ if you look at retail prices in Europe. Especially with the weak dollar...

I honestly thought the single player at least would be better than what I am hearing, but "short, kinda boring" seems to be the consensus. Gonna LMAO if it hits the used-game shelves so quick it cannibalizes new purchases before the holiday season even arrives. |
The main appeal of MW 2 is the online, which will stop that many used sales from damaging new sales
Only 6 hours?
So much for Kotick wanting it to be "the biggest entertainement launch in history"
The biggest entertainement launch in the form of a video game should at least try to have some length to them.
This is what I hate about most games today. I expected graphically impressive and long uber games, not developers sacrificing length just to boost visuals. Length is important.
I LOVE ICELAND!

It may be short, but it will be awesome. You have to remember that this game is mostly about MP, the SP is just the warm up really
^Still, there are FPS games that I think does multiplayer better than CoD.
And no dedicated servers will cripple the MP beyond rescue.
I LOVE ICELAND!

Pachter thinks the biggest release of the year, from a massive third party publisher, launching on three formats, with a strong brand name and massive marketing blitz is going to be a massive hit at the busiest time of the year for videogame sales?
What a genius.
The saddest thing is that this overpriced game that has basicly the same multiplayer as COD4 and doesn't even has dedicated servers will get straight 10s everywhere and massive sales. I know this doesn't have anything to do with the thread but I know I'm not the only one who thinks the same.
